HOWEVER, I've been so impressed with the rest of the game so far, and I count those thousands of new animations, human IK, and closed roof stadiums as massive franchise upgrades, so I'm still super happy. I guess it's been such a deluge of awesome reveals for the show. I was just hoping that SDS had another ace up their sleeve for the franchise section that was going to make me fanboy even harder, but I guess the 15 someodd they've already revealed is enough :P.
I don't think RTTS got any WOW reveals tbh, but i thought player morale was a pretty big wow addition for franchise with the way it'll play a role in contract negotiations and it adds a whole new element that wasn't present in franchise before.

I'm not a franchise guy though, so what do i know.

I'm guessing it has something to do with reaching a milestone (600 career homeruns for example). If it had something to do with retirement, that would mean a player would have to announce their retirement during the season, in order to get that presentation in the last game or whatever.

I'm really interested in hearing more about the logic changes and small nuisances that have been changed. I wonder if they had time to expand on the transaction log to see the entire season instead of resetting.

So I tweeted at Ramone about not seeing anything about non-roster invitees and his reply was "Watch the stream on Thursday for more info."

        So you're telling me there's a chance?

Is this a serious question?? The game releases in 28 days. The game is done.

Just wait till Thursday before you come to a conclusion to what has been done with franchise mode. I'm sure there are a lot of little things that has been added or fixed within this mode that was not mentioned in this video.

For me the Wow reveal for RTTS (but not just RTTS) is the ability to play a complete series without going back to the menu screen between games and being able to jump between opportunities without needing to see the simulation screen each time.

Re: MLB The Show 16 Video - Franchise Mode

During last year's franchise stream I asked whether cpu teams also have sponsorship revenue and the answer was no. I didn't use that feature for that reason.

I wonder if that is still the same.

you got a good case there, Desmond has to learn a whole new position, just to play this year.

Not if you look his whole situation. When he rejected the $108M deal from the Nationals, Elvis Andrus had just signed his $120M deal. Desmond is/was a better hitter then Andrus and Desmond has been the time hitting SS in baseball the past few years, except for Tulo. Desmond had every reason to believe he could get more then the $108M.

Now, you can say he should have accepted the QO. However, the entire industry was predicting at the time that he would get at least $90M. He was hurt by the draft pick compensation, as well as the fact that so many teams are rebuilding. Desmond would be an upgrade over most teams starting SS.

Hindsight is always 20/20. But it is short-sighted to say that he was an idiot for how this played out.

Oh I think Franchise mode is going to be AWESOME this year. Like I said in my post, a lot of the stuff that's been revealed before the franchise video I considered huge upgrades to franchise.

After taking a sober second look at it, I can see that a part of my cynicism comes from the fact that, when looking at the other video's for the other modes, I'm thinking: Oh, that feature will definitely motivate me to play that mode more. There was never going to be that feature for franchise, because I'm already there. I'm already motivated.

I guess the best analogy to describe my feelings about this video would be that it's like mom's cooking. It's familiar and predictable, but it makes me happy and puts a smile on my face.

Andrus is seen as a far superior SS defensively and less likely to be injured.
either way it was $108 Mil no matter how crazy the rangers were to sign Adrus at that price or not.
