Victor, you are a question answering maniac! And you are answering all of these questions with the answers I want to hear, which is even better! Thanks to you and Luis for "keeping your ears to the streets" as it were and listening to the buzz/addressing our concerns about this franchise stream.

No system will be perfect, but these new features appear to be well conceived (especially after giving us a bit more background info) and I look forward to testing them out.

I noticed the Phillies warm up caps are wrong when they were scrolling through the Phil's uniforms. They still had last years warm up caps in. I wonder if that's gonna get fixed or if it's final.

So what happens when the created/drafted player reaches the MLB level?

The game is capable of generating a morale profile for every player in a carry-over save, so I'd imagine it'll just create a new one when it needs to for up-and-coming players.

That would be very dumb if minor leaguers and drafted players didn't have a morale system. Defeats the purpose of a long franchise.

Thats great to hear, and thank you. I wonder how bummed Addison Russell will be in the 9 hole for the Cubs, lol. It may become a factor more in later years, but a good problem to have to deal with I guess

Is 30M still the most that can be offered to a player? I saw that there were some salaries higher than that but didnt see any offers go higher than that.

I would think so as well. Seems most likely.

that is exactly how it is, Luis said this. he said minor leaguers are not affected by morale until they reach the major league level.

To be honest, I can see that creating some potential headaches for the OSFM team, if morale isn't editable. There's no telling what kind of personality you'll get when an edited minor leaguer hits the bigs.

At times like those it's probably best to remember that Franchise is supposed to be your own fictional universe.

I want a developer answer on this because I am unsure either way of how that works. The carry over saves import new batting stances and equipment and morale to your save only because players have the same name/user ids. If you were to have a 'created' Donaldson or something and tried to import the save he wouldn't get those things I believe. So I am not so sure that OSFM created minors will get morale when they hit the majors for example. For me it's not a huge deal as I play 2-3 seasons max of franchise before starting again but if someone plays 5+ seasons in one franchise it might not be ideal.

Franchise modes in sports games are always designed around short term, the long term franchise is very hard to balance it would seem when generated players are introduced, I don't think it's realistic to want the same quality of franchise 8 years after starting as you get 2-3 years after starting.

For gaming purposes, why would minor leaguers even need morale though? They're owed nothing. They have to prove and work for their spots. They don't get to be promised anything and their contracts are already somewhat controlled as far as value goes. You don't need to know if another Venezuelan prospect needs a compatriot to be happy. He's fighting for a shot at the big leagues. Why would you want to have to try and cater to that guy? Leave that focus to the big club. Those prospects will get a personality when they show up after they've proven themselves...

I don't think you can change edited players morale but I did notice there was a 'Personality' menu on the edit player menu during one of the streams where they showed off equipment. Was that there last year?

I'm not sure if I really like that. Honestly everything from 1-5 is a primo spot in the order. Hell my favorite guy ever (Ryno) batted a majority of his career in the 2 hole. This was the case during his young prime years 84-85 and then his second prime time '89-92.

I just don't think a guy is gonna get pissed off if he's batting 2nd or 5th. Maddon last year had a fairly stable rotation where Bryant and Rizzo where batting 2 and 3 because Russell was batting 9. This guaranteed these guys got first inning ABs but for the balance of the game they were essentially 3-4 guys.

Also the GM goals got me worried about getting into a situation where you have to win a WS every 3 years to stay with your team. I really have no interest in being another team and I was forced to keep the goals on because I year to year saved from 14 to 15. I'm in my 6th year and have won 2 WS with the Cubs and I'm just scared that if I don't win another one in the next 3 years I'll get booted because that the owners expectations. A GM especially with the Cubs would not lose his job for wining 2 WS in what would be 9 years. I seriously just wish they would implement a way to turn off the GM goals on a continuing franchise.
I completely agree. I was advocating for carry over saves for years and when it was finally implemented I discovered I'm forced into GM mode unless I use 30 team control, neither of which I have any desire to do.

Maybe they have patched it this year.

I see your point but your looking at it with too much complexity. It's a simple coding if anything it's not like these guys coming up are crazy and have bad tempers lol. That stuff doesn't exist in the game. In fact I heard Ramone talking about physical interactions in another stream and saying something along the lines of MLB not allowing any kind of that crap in the video game anymore.

If anything morales will just progress or regress based on their OVR ranking. The other things like region are just minor things and really just another option you can use to keeps guys happy if their role is pissing them off...
