Who else misses these kind of features in Franchise?

I like to know what is going on around the league in franchise mode. Who else misses the Newspaper on the main screen? You can know all of the details of trades, results, any major games etc. They had it in the old MLB The Show games I just wish they didn't remove that. I know Madden has something similar with their news page. I think it would be so much better than the radio show since it gets old and stale. Plus many people don't want to listen to that. I wish SCEA could see this.

I think the radio show is meant to replace the old newspaper. Besides, when's the last time you actually read a real life newspaper? Getting a little archaic.

I don't really miss it just because once you saw it a few times you realized that it was just two different fill in the blank reports.

One of my favorite newspaper messages (from 09) was after my RTTS player's Marlins beat the crud out of the Red Sox in an interleague road game. "Interleague intrigue? What Interleague intrigue?! The only thing intriguing of the Marlins 12-1 rout of the Red Sox were the boat races they show on the jumbotron between innings."

I agree that newspapers are outdated, but at least something similar to what Madden has with the tweets on the side and the latest news as a headline. I think that is a nice touch

I think that is pretty funny and cool at the same time.

Honestly a radio is even more archaic than a newspaper to me. I still read news occasionally but I can't remember the last time I've ever listened to any type of radio.... And the radio show is extremely repetitive. I wish it wasn't just a score-list of every single game, every single day. The nice thing about the newspaper is that its subject matter was diverse. Sometimes the entire article was about the starting pitching performance, sometimes it was about a big trade, etc...

The radio show is literally one format with scores pasted in. The newspaper at least had some variety to it.

I'm fairly certain the radio show is meant to mimic the on the half hour updates like what you hear on a sport talk radio show such as WFAN.
              It does so almost exactly.

Yep I listen a lot of sports talk radio usually around 10-15 hours a week. And those 30 minute updates are for the most all the same. Unless there is some kind of breaking news, or comments to the media during the show you are listening to. They get annoying very fast.

I just wish they would put the transaction screen on the front screen in franchise. I usually miss when guys are on waivers, etc when I sim, I just forget to check. This year they have a pop up screen when transactions happen, maybe that will help. Don't know if it's only major transactions though.

Keep the Radio Show, but bring back newspapers in a way, sort of. Retool it to look like a website, like Bleacher Nation or some such, generic & fictional. Yes newspapers are dead, but reading is not.

I would rather them take the route of Madden and NBA 2k with baseball writers talking about the goings-on around the league.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Exactly. I don't like radio but in the end the format doesn't matter. They could do a telegram for all I care.

What is important is that we get some analysis and news. And if I'm the Mets I really don't want to sit through a readout of American League scores every night.

All the teams in your division, the top 5 Wildcard teams in your league, and then on to some analysis, please. If I want more scores I can go to the Calendar and read them myself!

Of course I realize the radio show thing just happened recently and they can't build a polished show overnight. I just hope that the things we are describing in this thread, is what they are striving for.

I think they should do what Madden and 2K do with the write ups and twitter feeds. Also draft express mock drafts.

Wouldn't mind if the newspaper came back, but I woud like it to be like the old NCAA Football games. I aways thought it was cool in those games.

I agree 100 percent on that. The best radio show was the Tony Bruno Show for Madden 06. Probably one of my favorite things about that game. The comedy mixed in even made it more enjoyable to listen to for me.

Gotta say that I love that the SCEA team understands that we as fans want variety and not repetitiveness. It's good to know they are working on it
