Re: Official MLB 16 : Road to the Show Thread

So what's the best way to analyze your swing after you put the ball in play? After a foul or a swing-and-miss, it'll show me where my PCI was in relation to the ball, what my timing was, etc. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like that's possible after I put a ball in play. Has anyone figured out a way to see this information?

The best I can do is check out the pitch location next time I'm at bat by using R2. By that time, the swing analyzer will have information on the last batter, not my swing. Basically, I'd like to see what went wrong. A lot of times I feel like I placed my PCI perfectly and should have hit the ball harder. It would be nice to know if that's true (and the game is screwing with me) or if I messed up. If it was my fault, what did I do wrong and how can I fix it next time.

Tip for fellow pitchers: throw mid and high fastballs. I've been trying to play a true sinkerballer and have been getting crushed. In response to real-life pitchers being instructed at every level to keep the ball down, real-life hitters have learned to hit low pitches very well, and this seems to apply to the game as well.

Since I started throwing at least half of my fastballs up in the zone, I've been getting much better results. I'm giving up less hits on the hard stuff and am getting more missed swings on offspeed and breaking pitches. Even middle-height 2-seamers and sinkers are effective if you're working both sides of the plate.

So give it a shot if you haven't already.

I play a pitcher in RTTS about 100% of the my play time in The Show. What I have found to be effective is a mix of 4seam FB (with velocity maxed,) a changeup and a slider. I almost always start with a FB or slider low and on the corners, and my strikeout pitch if I'm ahead (1-2, 0-2) is usually a change below the zone if the previous pitches have been FBs or if the count is 2-2 or 3-2 a high tight FB.

I have a CP that is in his second year, still in AAA. 4SFB, Splitter, Slurve & Cutter are my pitches. Having a good time with it. Usually start off with a high 4FB. Then depending if its LR or RH throw a cutter mid inside or splitter down. Can usually have them chase the slurve off the plate to the low inside or outside corner. I normally target the low inside or outside corners, depending on their hotspots

Anyone notice this happen to them? It happened to me in my SS RTTS.

I just finished my 2nd season in AAA. I was rated about a 71 ovr.

I got a message from my team telling me that I am ready to be an everyday MLB player but I would have to make the move to 3B. I accepted and continued with the offseason. Then a couple weeks later I got traded to the Giants. No warning.

Had to stay in AAA. No spring training. Played a few weeks while asking for trades and moving back to SS.

I then got traded to the Pirates. Which they then told me I have commitment issues and they will be actively looking to trade me. But then they traded away their SS and I got he call up and am a starter shortly after the all star break.

It was pretty cool to see all of that occurring.

Has anyone else noticed the low assists and putout numbers for your infielder? I'm playing 3B for the Astros and most other 3B have almost 100 more putouts than me and my assists are considerably lower as well

Re: Official MLB 16 : Road to the Show Thread

I just created a ss/2b for my youtube channel and was drafted by the Houston Astros. Their infield is pretty crowded with Altuve, Correa, Kemp, Bregman, Gonzalez and Fontana. If I'm not called up after a few months of good play, I plan on trying to play elsewhere.

So, my question is when are you eligible to request a trade in RTTS?

I apologize if this has previously been answered.

You'll be able to ask for a trade a few weeks or maybe a month into the season.

I go eight innings and strike out eleven. We lose 1-0.

And I'm the one getting yelled at in the dugout after the game.

What do you guys think is better to spend my stubs on? XP Boosts or Training Points straight up. I generally limit how much I upgrade my player each season but I have 2k Stubs to use going into next season and I cant decide if I want to use them for more XP boosts or just straight up training points.

I definitely notice a increase in training points with the XP increase but I dont know if it is more than if I just bought 1000 training points.

You get a lot more training points from the XP boosts. I haven't tracked it that closely, but I'd guess I end up with 1500-2000 training points by the time the boost ends. Always go for the boosts.

Alright thanks. I have kind of noticed that I ended up buying a second set of boosts because for the first 15 games of the first one I was in a bad slump but now that I am hitting well again I have definitely noticed I think I have gotten something like 1500 training points in the past 10 games.
