To be clear, it isn't particularly realistic.

Yeah I'm aware. I don't think it's THAT far off tho. Rockies need pitching pretty bad, they get a guy who could be their ace plus a pretty highly rated 3B prospect to replace Arenado down the road. Not to mention Olivera.

Rockies need a lot of help I don't see them contending any time soon anyways.

My question is what other team's system should I target? And what;s the best pitcher can I get for Pujols?
Until they make it feasible to send lots of cash in trades, you aren't getting anyone to bite on Pujols. Nice try though.

It doesn't take a ton of time to rebuild and I believe he has 3 more years of team control. They don't really have much reason to trade him instead of building around him.

Since I am taking on the contract of Shields, could I throw them back a contract I don't want in JA Happ and take back another piece. Something like this:

Shields + OF/or other lesser minor mlb ready guy for Pompey + B prospect + Happ.

Well you can't trade Happ for 2 months

ur trading Happ and that package? you'd give up all that for a bad contract declining pitcher? Insert Ross instead of Shields imo

Yea the trade wouldn't happen until the All Star break/Deadline..just lining up possible deals.

Maybe I will compare Ross and Shields when I get to that point

id honestly try to have 2-3 lefties in ur rotation. Remember, u do have to play in that joke of a park in NY which is lefty (batter) heaven

Realism aside, do the Mariners have enough in their farm system to acquire Votto if they take on his whole contract? Just trying to get an idea of what a fair trade would be.

My thoughts exactly but when your lefty has a 7.something era then it's a struggle lol

Going to be starting a 6 team franchise(Det, Sea, Bos, Cubs, Arizona, Marlins). I'm going to have storyline of Sale continues to be pissed about the laroache debacle and. demands a trade. What would Seattle have to pony up for him?

They wouldn't trade him to Seattle. The Mariners don't have the goods. No elite prospects in that system.
