If a guy didn't play in the mlb last year he can't be in the next year's game. There are exceptions for injuries and stuff but that is the general rule. The other thing is a player has to fill out paperwork in order to be in and sometimes they don't get it done in time. I know there other other instances that this happens but those seem to be the main two.

This holds true for managers as well. In my franchise(started on mlb 14) I had my all time favorite player Ryne Sandberg as my manager for the Cubs (I know it went bad in philly, but in my little universe he led the Cubs to back to back titles and all was well). I guess I'm gonna have to hope Maddon gets fired and bring him in for the 2020 season.

Speaking of Ryno, the batting stance listed for him is way different then on past games. Only thing I can think is they are trying his 1984 stance, but honestly I'm not seeing it. It has hardly any waggle and he is resting the bat on his shoulder.

the new umpire system does not work with carry over(1str) 13 games played and no mention whatsoever of whos working, what there name is, etc,etc....

Just them displaying the names or is the same ump behind home plate?

If the names are not displayed, I'm ok with as long as each is different for each game.

As far as I've seen, in Play Now, the umps are only mentioned in Broadcast Presentation. Possibly in Hybrid too (can't remember) but definitely not in Fast Play.

Are you using Broadcast Presentation?

Don't know if this has been answered, but is it actually random? I know I use Josh Reddick's swing for my RTTS guy and it gave my Georgia for a birthplace, where Josh is from. But that could just be a coincidence.

I think it's a coincidence. I had Travis Hafner's and he's from North Dakota. My guy is from California.

Personally, I think morale, and birth region is not a big issue, taking what Viktor has stated in past posts. But one thing critical is stats. I'm a big fan of stats and those special milestones that show up in-game, but when you see your Jose Fernandez has about 20 wins and played no games according to the stats, it is a bit frustrating. I am not going to carry over my franchise til there's a patch that will fix the stats issue. Hope it gets addressed pretty soon.

I just transferred over my 1987 Quest For Donny Baseball franchise in year 2.

Needless to say everything except the player role thing is perfect. Birthp[laces are correct for all my players...and the stats from year one are exactly correct on the player card. Yes still 0's for walks, GP etc. But playable by all means.


Go figure that.

It works.

Morale is fine as that is only one factor (player roles) yes a patch is coming and yes when you get to the offseason it fixes itself.

But you can transfer your files....at least this one is working great.

Yeah im still going to wait for a patch, I want them to bring over walks and errors and the other stats they didnt import.

Perfectly understandable.

I can just re-transfer them as well if it does not take affect on currently transferred files.

But at least I can dabble and play them a little for some...(wait wait for the word)....FUN!!!!!

I would think from a programming standpoint they could take the current season stats (as they are correct on the statistics page) and copy them to the player card but i don't wanna play 20 games and findout they cant lol.

If your OK with that sort of thing then I'm happy for you. I personally am going to wait until its fixed before starting my carry over franchise.

Yeah I decided to ignore the issues and carry over anyways. It actually works to my advantage since I have a team full of super-stars anyways (many who won't be back end of season).

The stats thing is only a minor annoyance to me, my big issue is there are no spring training stats being recorded. Seems I'm going to have to set my lineups based on old fashioned gut feeling alone.

Do we have any idea when the patch will come? It is frustrating to buy a game and then not be able to play it day 1.

Unfortunately, the "zero stats issue" is not something we can fix. As some of you might know, we tracked a very small number of career stats before The Show 16, and those are the ones that are displayed perfectly fine in your save files. The columns with zeroes, like Games Played and Walks, are new career stats that we added in 16, so we can't just make them appear out of thin air for carryover saves. You might notice some stats such as On Base Percentage being displayed, but incorrectly. That's because these are calculated stats, and we have some of the data necessary to calculate it, but not all (which is why OBP looks just like BA, because we don't have BB, HBP and SF to calculate it fully). The good news is that all of the newly added stats will track perfectly fine as soon as you start playing/simulating games.

We apologize for this, but it's just an unfortunate limitation of our old system

The Player Role issue will resolve at the moment you select to "Advance to Offseason," this is what we consider to be the start of the next season (sorry for not being as clear last time). The Birthplace and Stats issues are separate and will not resolve at this point.

No, not always. I always save my franchise the day the WS ends, whether win, lose, not participating. I tried to load a 6 November save with " Advance to the Offseason" day waiting. Save loads/transfers, gives me notes on coaching vacancies, Q offers, etc. I get the retirement screen and then the home screen for the franchise. I can edit contracts and such, offer to coaches but click on schedule and ERROR.

I did all the first day of the offseason signings on 15, saved and carried that over instead. The morale issues reappear. I looked at the first day stuff before the error and the morale stuff is proper and correct. It would seem that the issue is schedule related in, uh, relation to morale. That's where my error comes up.

Thank you for your response, i guess i will start to dive in my y2y saves then, just one more question, What about the budgets inflating as many people have posted screen shots of this happening?
