If you feel like it's taking too long to progress, turn up the Dynamic Difficulty Sensitivity slider. as the description says, you'll promote (and demote) over twice as fast.

It measures progress by OPS, which means the more extra base hits (total bases) you get without making outs, the faster you'll move up. With that slider maxed, it doesn't take much more than a HR, double and a single or two to progress a level.

I wish that you were able to select a difficulty level to start at initially and then have it dynamically adjust from that, rather than having to start at rookie every year.

This is bugged in RTTS. The hitting side is anyway.

Pitching? It is working just fine. In RTTS, it is simply broken for me (and for a lot of other people I've seen) Maybe it has to do with imports, positions, how you play (I just hit and don't baserun or field for example), but the way it is now, it's bugged for me.

I've maxed the slider, changed every setting related to it imaginable and it will not work. I finally gave up after a 31 game hitting streak where I had 36 extra base hits.

I'm going to reset and go back to that. i'll probably try default all star for now and see if that works better until the bug gets fixed. In the meantime, I'm going to work on my pitchers career more because Dynamic Difficulty is working on that end.

One more note: i have sent the bug to the shownation. There were already 7 upvotes by the time I looked there 2 days ago. I'm guessing that's higher now.

so it should be set at 10 to promote/demote at the highest rate, but when do you guys feel its set enough you can knock the slider to zero?
but what is the tell tale sign that its time to shut it off? how do you know its evened out?

After messing around with this a bit in RTTS, I agree that there's something wrong with the batting side of DD. It's obvious something's getting switched off because the progress meter just disappears for the duration of the game even when you have DD Updates set to "Progress" (which means every AB).

It works fine in normal gameplay and RTTS pitching for me - that is, with that option set it shows the progress after every AB. Not so much for RTTS hitting.

Is there a bug report on the tracker for this yet?

I think I am going to try this again this year. I didn't like in the past that you like had to be up by 3 runs or something to go up. I heard that is not true this year. I didn't like that because you could say score 10 runs for sever games in a row but your hitting wouldn't go up because your pitching was giving up 8-9 runs. Or you could have sever games in a row where you only score a few runs and only give up a few runs and so even though your pitching was good your pitching wouldn't increase. So I felt like the 3 run thing was flawed.

When batting the reticle almost fills whole PCI game is on rookie/beginner, right? I switched from Dynamic to All-star in my RTTS and the reticle is still huge, this is a bug?

Just went back to my sliders from 15 because something is off with DD in 16 and it's killing my enjoyment of the game.

Thinking of trying DD for a few weeks, as soon as the RTTS bug is fixed. Is it best to keep sliders at default as I am working through the DD progression process?

                        Re: Dynamic Difficulty in 2016

I used dynamic difficulty in MLB 15 but I really don't like starting over. I was at All Star hitting and Hall of Fame pitching at my peak so I'll just preset those difficulties myself.

Dynamic difficulty can also be kinda annoying. Whenever you have a good pitcher on the mound and you're just late on fastballs they'll decrease your difficulty. Was not really liking that. It's okay to be in a slump sometimes.

I think Dynamic difficulty is sort of broken this year. Like ever game I have played at some point in the game the Dynamic difficulty thing as went away from the top. It is really annoying because I have gotten my pitching up to like all star+ but my hitting only on like rookie+ and that is because I have never been as good of a hitter has I am a pitcher in the show and there have been sever times were my hitting would have most likely gotten above rookie+ only for the Dynamic difficulty to go away in like the 5th inning of a game were I hit really well.

It probably "went away" because you promoted mid-game. You won't always see the "Difficulty Increased" banner because things like home run displays and pitch count banners can overlap it. You can only promote one step each game (Like Rookie+ to Veteran, for example), so if you reach that point in the middle of a game, that's as far as you can go until a new game.

If you're stuck on rookie + and not promoting, make absolutely sure that you're loading the same user profile every game. That's how DD progress is tracked. On the team select screen before every game, use the right stick to cycle through your profiles (Beginner, Experienced, etc.) and find one to use and stick with. This is the number one thing I feel like people do wrong when they're trying to use DD.

I know DD works outside of RTTS because I've promoted all the way up to HOF on both hitting and pitching.

Two thoughts on DD and getting to the correct level for you. First, I agree with those that think we should be able to pick our starting base level and then let DD do its work from there instead of starting at rookie.

Secondly, if we decide not to use DD, it's unfortunate we can't further refine our level of play within a given level as happens in dynamic. I normally don't expect an overly high number of levels, but since the functionality obviously exists in DD, I'd think they should be able to introduce it outside of DD without many problems.

I knw these might be a bit "nitpicky" as I think the overall game is truly great this year. But that's what these forums are for--constructive criticism!
