If you level up for batting in a game, then your progress stops until you start a new game. For example, you start Game A on Rookie, you hit well and by inning 5 you level up to Rookie +. At that point you're now on Rookie + with no progress being made from inning 5 on. Then when you start your next game, or Game B you'll start on Rookie + and continue to progress up and down. If you drop back down to Rookie in Game B, or move up to Veteran. You would have to wait til Game C to start your progression again. Hope that makes sense.

I normally don't expect an overly high number of levels, but since the functionality obviously exists in DD, I'd think they should be able to introduce it outside of DD without many problems.

I knw these might be a bit "nitpicky" as I think the overall game is truly great this year. But that's what these forums are for--constructive criticism!

Yeah I agree you should be able to just pick all star+ if you want to play on and you should be able to start at a difficulty higher then rookie so you can get to your right level faster.

If you're stuck on rookie + and not promoting, make absolutely sure that you're loading the same user profile every game. That's how DD progress is tracked. On the team select screen before every game, use the right stick to cycle through your profiles (Beginner, Experienced, etc.) and find one to use and stick with. This is the number one thing I feel like people do wrong when they're trying to use DD.

I know DD works outside of RTTS because I've promoted all the way up to HOF on both hitting and pitching.

Oh I didn't know that you could only go up 1 step each game that is kind of silly. I have played 6 games on DD now and I have only got to like rookie+ on hitting and that is with the DD slider thing at 10 so I should go up faster. I had a game were I was at rookie+ with like 5 innings left and I scored like 8 runs in that 5 innings and yet I was still at rookie+ to start the next game. Yeah I have been using the profile thing. I also notices that the profile thing is bug again but it has been for years. I have only played like 6 games but my profile says I have played like 10 games.

Oh ok its to bad you can only go up 1 step a game. I guess what I am going to have to start doing is when I go up a level I will have to quit game and start a new game so I can go up again.

Yes exactly. You can also restart I'm pretty sure, and your new level sticks.

At least 30. Not necessarily all completely full games.

Oh I have only played 7 but I fill like I am getting close. I am almost to HOF pitching and almost to all star hitting. In the past I always found HOF pitching to hard but all star to easy so I would play all star but with my pitching sliders down some. In the past once I got to all star+ I would get hit to hard but all star not enough with default sliders. I like the way all star+ played in the past when it comes to pitch control but found the CPU hits to well. I am hoping this year that the CPU hits more like all star in the past on all star+ this year but that control over location of pitches is the same as in the past on all star+ if that makes any scenes to any body.

                  Re: Dynamic Difficulty in 2016

I started a RTTS as a relief pitcher and managed to get the Dynamic Difficulty up to Legendary, but then it suddenly dropped me back down to Rookie between games. I didn't do anything except sim to my next appearance. It's really frustrating that I now have to work my way back up to that difficulty level.

I might turn Dynamic Difficulty off, as it seems to be more trouble than it's worth. It reset on me in The Show '14 as well (after taking control of a Demo Mode game), which was also incredibly frustrating. As another person mentioned, there should be a way to set the starting point for Dynamic Difficulty. Experienced players shouldn't have to grind their way up to the higher difficulty levels, let alone do it multiple times.

Make sure it didn't switch profiles from "Experienced" to "Beginner" by accident

My preference was to find where I felt the CPU would punish me for my mistakes, which turned out to be HOF+. But I was still hitting corners on every pitch with most pitchers. I went up to Legendary and started getting rocked. I went back down to HOF+, put USER control and consistency down to 4, and haven't looked back.

I hear you but in the past I found on default HOF it was a little to hard to not make mistake pitches and I found on HOF you can like never get away with a bad pitch and also I found on HOF in the past that the CPU will to often have a at bat were they are just going to foul off ever thing in till they like hit a HR or are walked. I like the way the CPU would bat in the past on all star when it comes to their plate discipline and missing or not missing pitches but it was to easy to locate pitches on all star so it would make pitching a little to easy. I only tried Legendary I think back when it was first added and I found on that the CPU would hit ever thing and I mean ever thing. I would see the CPU hitting changeups all the time below the knees for HR.

I'm not suggesting that you personally play on HOF, I'm just saying what worked for me. So if you like the CPU batting on All Star but you're too accurate, then drop both accuracy and consistency for the user down to 4 and if that doesn't work enough, try 3.

I think I am going to maybe do that. That is what I did last year but I found it was still a little to easy not to walk guys. I want to see if all star + or HOF is different then last year.

That's exactly why you should play on higher level. The fear of getting taken yard should make you pitch a lot more carefully, and result in many more walks.

Yeah I know you should fear guys but I also find the CPU hits way to well on HOF and has at bats were no matter what the CPU is just going to hit a HR if they want to.
