    Year 1/Game 62

In his first start in the majors this year, Daniel Winkler pitched surprisingly effective against a lineup more fierce than we were expecting. Winkler went up against an Oakland team that included Corey Seager, Kyle Seager, Anthony Rizzo, J.D. Martinez and Dexter Fowler. Greg Bird hit a 2 run homerun to dead center in the 4th. The homer was his 20th of the season! Trevor Gott pitched two innings of scoreless relief. The ever dependable Zach Duke gave up a 2 run homer in the 8th to Anthony Rizzo that would prove to be the fatal blow. Final score Oakland 5 Cincinnati 3

    Daniel Winkler 5IP 5H 3R 0BB 6K

FYI - I did not play any spring training this year.

Another loss at home. This is the first time the Reds have lost two consecutive series at home (actually the first two series lost at home). Garret Richards pitched an effective game, but took the loss, going 6 innings allowing 6H 3R 1BB and 8K. Phil Hughes picked up his 4th victory of the season going a strong 6. Alex Meyer came on in relief and pitched a strong two innings, before loading the bases in the 9th, and allowing a pinch hit GRAND SLAM to D. Dietrich to make it a 7-2 game. Final Score- Oakland 7 - Cincinnati 2

Greg Bird Extended his hitting streak to 8 games.
Trevor Story Has been dropped to 8th in the lineup due to his awful AVG

        Year 1/Game 64

Jake Peavy proves yet again just how valuable he is to the Reds. Another victory, improving to 9-0 on the season! This wasn't Peavy's best game, but it was enough. He finished with 7IP 4H 1R 1BB 3K. Kevin Jepsen & Zach Duke combined for a scoreless 8th inning. Todd Frazier went 2-4, with an RBI & a Run scored in the 8th to give Santiago Casilla some cushion. Casilla earned his 26th save of the season cutting through Anthony Rizzo, J.D. Martinez, and Jose Fernandez .

        Next Up
7 days on the road, a day off and 2 more on the road before returning to home. The first 4 games will be versus Atlanta. Jake Thompson (2-1 3.05), Sonny Gray (9-3 2.87), Daniel Winkler (0-0 5.40), & Garrett Richards (8-4 2.77) go up against John Danks (4-3 4.30), Jered Weaver (3-3 5.36), Collin McHugh (5-1 4.07) & Jamie Garcia (3-4 3.07)

Danks was traded on May 6th to the Braves from the Reds, along with RP Brooks Brown & LF Scott Schebler. The return was SP Trevor Williams & Brandon Peterson

Re: Official MLB The Show 16 Fantasy Draft Franchise Progress Thread

This team is going to give me a heart attack.

Ventura was trash once again, giving up 7 runs in 3 innings. Puts the Rockies in a 7-2 hole after four innings. Looks like an easy win for the Mets.

Rockies claw their way back into the game, thanks to the bullpen rallying together to keep the Mets stuck on 7 runs. Still, it looks like the hole was just too deep as the score was 7-5 in the 9th.

Lindor lines out hard to RF, making it look like fate for sure. But then Panik reaches on a really strange play. He broke his bat but the pitcher didn't even go for the ball until it landed right near him. Panik was hustling the whole way and ends up beating the play out for a hit.

Pederson, really cold now after a great start, comes up with a sharp single to right. Panik moves over to third.

Harper comes up and takes two tough low fastballs off the corner to get ahead 2-0. Holland thought he could change the eye level with some high heat. Harper changed the eye level with a crushed, sky high home run that ended up landing in the 3rd deck in right field. That gave the Rockies a walk-off 8-7 win. It's the third game in a row that the Rockies have won in their last at bat.

Notes: Ventura might be on the way out, either to AAA or to another team. His ERA shot up to 6.02 and he's by far the most struggling pitcher on the team right now...Avery Romero went 2-for-4 and saw his batting average drop to .550...

Another tough loss. Jake Thompson seems serviceable though, going 6 innings and navigating through 11H & a walk with 2K's & 3double plays. Evan Marshall who was freshly called up from AAA to take over for the now demoted Alex Meyer, took the loss allowing 2 runs in the 8th. James Jones came around to score in the ninth with one out. But Frazier & Bird couldn't do anything. Final score Braves 4 Reds 3.

Greg Bird extended his hitting streak to 9 Games.

[COMPLETE RESULTS WILL BE POSTED IN THE BASEBALL DYNASTY FORUMS, WHERE THIS FRANCHISE WILL BE TRANSFERRED AFTER THE DRAFT]

I'm trying something here guys. Being from Montreal, I don't get to watch tons of MLB coverage (hopefully that will change soon with the rumors of a team coming back in the city). So I pretty much end-up drafting the same players over and over again when doing a Fantasy Draft.

What I like to most about visiting OS is that reading posts around here makes me aware of players I'm not entirely familiar with. With that in mind, I'd like to try something out...use you guys as part of my scouting team. Not saying I'll automatically pick the guys you want (hey, I'm the owner after all) but for those of you who would like to share their input throughout the draft, I'll listen to your opinion and base some of my decisions on that.

Obviously, I'm not gonna post every single round...as that would force me to leave my PS4 on for about two weeks. But there might be a few rounds where I'll get stuck between a few options. If you're up for it, feel free to join the scout team.

Important: I don't feel like hijacking this thread, so lets see how the first round goes, and we'll evaluate from there. And hey, if nobody's interested, at least I gave it a shot, and will move that to the dynasty section of the forums.

              ---

              A NEW ERA IN MINNESOTA

Well, here is it folks !

After weeks and weeks of anticipation and wild speculations, the 30 MLB teams are finally ready to enter this very unusual event, as the MLB commissioner, Rob Manfied, is now just a few minutes away from announcing the beginning of the very first MLB Fantasy Draft !

As previously reported, Minnesota Twins' fans can expect to see their favorite team take the podium at #23 to announce what should be the cornerstone of their franchise for years to come. Who will it be ? Should they go with an ace right away, or wait for the second round, when the team should come back at #8 ? If they decide to go with an infielder or an outfielder, which one and what kind ? Do you go for the homerun threath from the get go, or do you swing for average ?

All that and more, coming right up.

              ---

It's been decided by the owner that the Minnesota Twins will be looking to add a solid bat in the first round, with the hopes that one of Gerrit Cole or Noah Syndergaard will still be available in the next round. The Minnesota Twins are now on the clock, with the 23rd pick in the first round.

              SCOUT #1
I think Carlos Correa is our best option here. I mean the kid is only 21, can hit for average while providing plenty of power. Getting a bat like that at such a key position would be a huge advantage for us offensively. And he's just as good defensively. I think he's the clear-cut choice for us.

              SCOUT #2
I hear ya. But I gotta say, I'm a bit worried about his durability going forward. I mean, we're talking about our 1st round pick here, shouldn't we pick someone who not only proved he could bring the offense, but also bring it for 150+ games every year ? I gotta say, I'm leaning towards Anthony Rizzo here. The guy just turned 26, and while 1B might not be as important of a position as shortstop, Rizzo is a very disciplined hitter, can hit for average just like Carlos, while providing a little more power. Plus, I think chances to find a good shortstop in the 3rd round will be a lot higher than 1B, as I don't expect Eric Hosmer, who is second on our board, to be available for our 3rd round pick.

              SCOUT #3
What about Nolan Arenado, guys ? He's a little younger than Anthony, has more experience than Correa. He's durable, provides contact and power...and he's a golden glove winner. Wanna talk about depth at a position ? I can almost guarantee you that Kris Bryant won't be available to us in the 3rd round, which would leave us with options like David Wright, Kyle Seager or Jung-ho Kang. Could he be the best of both world ?

              HEAD SCOUT
What do you say Mr. Lord. Any of these players strike you as the perfect 1st round pick for our Minnesota Twins ?

listen to scout 1. Take correa. You can always get a good 1b, there's not a lot of SS like Correa, once in a generation. (Also there's a good chance kris Bryant is available in the 3rd. Other options like Matt Duffy will be there. I would certainly go with Carlos if your want a true corner stone player at a premium position)

Have you thought about getting the MLB.tv package? Pretty reasonable price n you can watch any out of market games you want (which I would assume to be blue jays games)

FYI I'm in now way associated with Major League Baseball, just trying to help another fan out.

Hehehehe, appreciate it. I'm considering it, though I'm waiting to see what kind of coverage we'll get this year, after the NHL playoffs. It's getting better and better, and we do get good coverage of the Jays on Sportsnet, and both french channels. But there's still a lot of room for improvement...

To give you an idea, I didn't even know up until last night who Randal Grichuk was. That's how far behind I am.

The bullpen lets the Rockies down this time. Marmol gives up the lead in the 9th and then the Mets take the lead in the 11th.

The Rockies had a chance to win in the bottom of the 9th, but the winning run was thrown out at the plate with just one out.

Holland came in for the Mets and this time slammed the door on 5 pitches in the 11th. Mets take the final game of the series 3-2. Guess you can't expect to win all of these nail-biter 1-run games!

Notes: Brandon Finnigan has been cleared to play and will make the start in the next Rockies contest...Ventura is on a start-by-start basis...if he does well, he'll get another start, if not, he'll be placed in long relief. Jose Urias would be the man to take Ventura's spot should this occur...Romero doubled off the wall in the 9th...nearly winning the game...he's been an amazing surprise so far...Marmol has been demoted from closer and Corey Knebel will get the assignment...

Trade Ventura!! In my prior fantasy draft, he was trash, in my current he's trash, in yours he's trash. Idk why but he's just not "that" guy. I'd look to trade him maybe get a decent veteran and a prospect for him?

Very flat pitches and inconsistent. Always has a lot of BB. And even I (who admittedly finds it very hard to walk usually get 5-6 BB's on him (I have been doing better 2-3 a game)) I have never pitched with him, but have faced him mulltiple times in different franchises and in this one, and it's always the same result....BAD
