Re: MLB The Show 16 Has Officially Arrived, Post Your Impressions Here
-Game looks great for the most part. But some of the player skin tone looks way off. Caucasian players like Jay Bruce and Justin Bour are red as a beet, and look darker than the Latin players.
-Stadiums overall look great, though it's obvious more work was put into some than others. Progressive is finally improved, but they still left out the tarp! I'm not an Indians fan but even I noticed that years ago. That's inexcusable.
-Disappointed to see the option to have the home run cam turned on/off is not included again. Since this is three straight years of it not being in the game, I've come to the conclusion this option is something they'll never consider returning. Oh well.
-On CPU vs. CPU games, you cannot adjust the batting/hitting camera. It's always stuck on broadcast regardless of settings. Don't know if this was an intended change or a bug.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 16 Has Officially Arrived, Post Your Impressions Here
Just got the game this morning, a few impressions:
-hitting is finally back on track. Last year, my hitting was by far the worst it had ever been, this year I am able to read pitches (especially low ones) better.
-animations are nice, especially the transition ones
-Please, please PLEASE do away with that awkward butt-slide for the infielders with their arm turned all the way around, then they "pop up" off their butt.
-had 3 hits right back at the pitcher. NHL goalie mode confirmed
-I know its a minor quibble, as a lot of the work that goes into the graphics on the parks themselves are second to none, but its really jarring when you have this incredible view (Busch), and the immediate detail behind it looks early PS3 era (the courthouse, the Hilton hotel)
Overall, its exactly what you'd expect. There's a reason this team creates arguably the best MLB game ever, and they did it again.Comment

Really like the game so far. I actually look forward to play the night games, because the lighting on night games is simply amazing. The transitions between animations has greatly been improved over last year.
The cons I see. The jerseys that have colors, not white or gray, look really weird, like they are wet or something. Also, there is some sort of sporadic frame rate drops, looks really bad sometimes. Finally, I see a lot of generic faces for really good players this year.
I'll give it a 8 out of 10.Comment

If you're a CPU vs. CPU watch game player(basically...GM only mode).....then I would submit this in the bug report.

Re: MLB The Show 16 Has Officially Arrived, Post Your Impressions Here
Maybe this was done last year on the ps4 version and I didn’t see it, but they finally got the rights to use the left field retired numbers portraits at Busch stadium on the wall! Loved that.
Also, I don’t know what it is about the crowd, but the movement and sharpness of the crowd is very very good in the batting view. Super realistic looking. Do not change that ever.
One thing I noticed, and I can’t believe it is a big deal now, but uniforms not separate from the body is kind of a big deal now after seeing it in 2k this year. Also, still see a few garbage animations, but you can tell they’re taking many old ones out to add in new ones. Wish the Busch backgrounds didn’t look like a child’s diorama, but hey, that’s not bad.
Stride is back, and I love that. Even if it’s cosmetic, it helps me time pitches. Actually, I think I might prefer cosmetic so I don’t have to learn guys strides. I am better out of the gate at hitting this year, which is good. I think that’s the game.
Overall, pretty impressed.

1) I am not crazy about the design decision to not show a players season stats in every AB. After their first AB it will only show how they did in that particular game (eg- 1-3 single run scored) but no BA HR's RBI anymore. Not a good design decision IMO. Baseball is about seeing my guys stats....often.A screaming comes across the sky...Comment

I've noticed if it's set to auto base running with Classic base running controls the bug occurs. If you set to auto base running and keep the control base running to default, it seems to keep the auto base running in tack. Don't hold me to this because I've only played 2 or 3 games.
Thanks, I'll give that a try.Comment

I've seen some bugs (non crippling) but it's a shame. In years past, I got the game 1-1.5 months after release but this time I picked it up on release day because I'm a Best Buy GCU member. I don't know if it's any more buggy than years past. Hopefully they fix it soon and won't make me start my RTTS again, since I transferred the guy from '15.
edit: I was going to report a bug but now the link Ramone posted isn't working.

I'm on PS4 :
L2 is working, BUT, you have to let your finger on the L2 for a good 2-3seconds to work..way less responsive than last year.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 16 Has Officially Arrived, Post Your Impressions Here
Played one game so far. Love the presentation now (most of it at least) and commentary is much better. Fielding is tighter, customization is deep, I'm finally getting some flairs to fall... all good talking points there.
PBR has also addressed a couple of my quibbles at AT&T Park regarding the backdrop of McCovey Cove and the Berkeley hills. I used to think the colors and lighting were "ignored" by the devs this whole time, but I realized it was a lighting/surface issue. It looks really good now, man. It's all starting to come together. The problem is that I think it's affecting my framerate, though. I know some people say they don't care about 30 vs. 60 FPS. Bros, there is a big difference, and it's not a pleasant one when it feels like we're going backwards there. Also not as impressive of AA as year past, though I can see right past that one when doing Remote Play. I hope I'm not the only one that sees this stuff. The rest looks pretty good, crowd included.
My other quibbles include all other balls hit to outfield that aren't flairs (that aren't fixed). This is because outfielders sprint to the balls coming straight at them too fast, balls hit down the lines don't cut enough into foul ground, balls hit on the grass don't die quickly enough, and some fly balls hang up in the air too much. This would still require an entire physics overhaul, so I didn't expect it this year. We're all good, though.
Only through one game, so I don't have much to say. But wow, my Giants are really well represented. I'm having a blast so far. Gotta knock on that framerate for a bit, though.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

It's definitely toned down yet still possible to hit the pitcher. I think the key is that the entire "pitcher box" isn't an automatic deflection now.Comment

PURPOSELY way less responsive as they have assigned pickoffs, the slide step and the 2nd base deke move to the L2 button as well.Comment
