Hopefully with the introduction of Hybrid and Quckplay, they can restore Broadcast to how it was.

In terms of gameplay, I am seeing a lot of homeruns, and not a lot of singles, but I need to play quite a bit more to see how that plays out.
I can easily get on board with that. Go back and play MLB 11 (still a great game after all these years) and experience broadcast presentation....or if you really want to see another way...real time presentation.

The pace, the walkups, the foul balls, all the fidgeting by batters after each pitch. yes I know MLB is trying to speed up the game...but it still has it's nuances. Those have been slowly removed over the last 3 years.

I still love the game. But I totally can get on board with the presentation being cut too much.

It has gone a little over board IMO. I want that full robust baseball game experience we used to have on 11....hell even 12 still had most of the elements.

    Great point.

As far as too many HR's....I would say keep playing. I am seeing all kinds of great games and hit variety has never been better. They nailed it this year. It's been an evolving feature (ball physics) that I have noticed each and every version get better and better.

I watch baseball everyday, multiple games (flipping back and forth with MLB Extra Innings like most of you I am sure) and the amount of monster HR's has increased two fold, the amount of errors I see on a nightly basis thus far has been astounding (George Springer had a doozy of an error...he looked like a little league rec ball player that's how bad it was which led to a 5 run inning with 2 outs)...so all kinds of things happen in games.

Real time presentation was awesome!! They will never bring it back but man, it was just perfect for me. Talk about immersion...off the hook.

I don't know if it's really a bug, but I like to play with Quick Counts on and the Pitch Type screen off. I use my catchers finger signs to determine which pitch to throw.

The problem is that the Quick Counts notification that displays during the first pitch of every at bat blocks the catchers fingers for about 5 seconds. It's not a huge deal at all, but kind of annoying.

Something similar to this is that if you ask for the signs to be displayed again, the catcher's mitt target often blocks the catcher's fingers.

I was a big fan of the Real-Time Presentation in this game. Count me in the camp that is disappointed with the amount of presentation features that have been chopped from the game over the last 3-4 years. I understand why SCEA made some of the decisions they did, but some presentation features (throwing ball back to the pitcher, batter stepping out of the box after a pitch and going through his pre-pitch routine) could've been kept in, imo.

Armor, I know you mentioned that the season totals don't show in the OSD when a batter comes to the plate in Franchise ... do we know if this is something that'll be patched? That's a pretty big oversight.

Yeah it's bizarre because totals show in the first AB but underneath a blank slate next to Avg, HR RBI OPS

Then in the second AB I have actually seen season totals below the large today's game stats. Then it never shows up again.

I have to believe it's bugged and a patch will address it.

I hope at least. If this was a design decision I am baffled by it as in the real MLB broadcasts it is always there and the series stats as well which have shown up for me (thank god)

But series recaps in pre game presentation I have yet to see which were great.

Fingers crossed on a patch addressing some buggy OSD's

Something definitely seems off with that.
I believe that it's supposed to give you the present stats in the large area and the 2015 stats in that low box, but when the OSD is looking at the 2016 stats for that low box....it just leaves them out.
I think it should be ...2015 or career in that low box.

Man, and I wasn't even around for Real-Time Presentation, I didn't start playing until 2012. Sounds like I would have loved it.

Seems like a little thing, but the actual at-bat experience and how it has become so fast paced and rushed, with all the cuts and warping has really killed my enjoyment of the franchise. It's really hard to have a patient at-bat when the game is constantly forcing you to take the next pitch as quickly as possible. Coming to the plate and hitting used to be an immersive experience, where now I find it irritating and tedious. The actual feeling of immersion between 12/13 and what we have today is night and day.

I keep saying it, but with the inclusion of Quick Play and Hybrid giving players the option to skip whatever presentations they feel are unnecessary, I hope now they give the other players the option to experience baseball how it actually is, and restore Broadcast to how it was, or even expand or improve upon it.

I had one of my outfielders pull a Jose Canseco. The ball went off his head and over the fence for a homerun. I saved the replay. I laughed.

Here is something interesting: A full in-between pitch presentation with no cut-away broadcast presentation, or warp back into the box.

Only seen this once in the last two years, in an actual game. Not sure if it's a bug or a certain situation that caused it. If I could only have this between every pitch I would be happy.

There is a cut right before the next pitch when the runner window pops up, but I'll take that all day over the warping.

Ironic thing is, we don't want it because it's not what we wanted.

It's the same thing with franchise mode. Weird to say few people use it when there's little done to improve it to justify more use.

I want a better franchise mode. But if they won't improve it, why would I play franchise mode? Instead the metrics say, CMH doesn't play franchise mode.

I remember when that was the norm. Real time presentation and pitch delay set to slow was a glorious thing.

It's a good video example. The big problem with broadcasting mode in MLB 16 are the in-between pitches. It's like the animations are still there, but for some reason they cut it. If i can have those full animations in-between pitches, i will be fine with broadcast mode.
Also, i don't know if it's a bug or a design choice, but it seems like in Play Now mode the cutscene with the home team entering the field is missing.

I know why you said this as it is what we've been told officially, but my question would be why then separate out hybrid from broadcast...in my mind i figured it meant a return of the slower realistic pace that existed in previous versions...(i.e. i was even expecting the return of 'slow' option for pitch delay). Having the animation cut of the catcher throwing the ball back from the pitcher doesn't make sense to me in 'broadcast' mode...if it was about pace, then why is this same sequence not cut short when the camera switches perspective...both would take the same amount of time
