This is by far the best sports game I've played in a LONG time. The only thing that gets me is that every single time I hit against the AI, 90% of my swings are flyouts or home runs. Playing against another human gives good, realistic game stats, but against the AI it's always all or nothing. I either flyout or go yard every time I make contact. I RARELY get base hits. Very unrealistic. Does anyone have a way to even this out?

What type of hitting are you playing? Zone, Directional, analog? If it is directional that might be part of it, I had a lot of problem hitting with directional and hit a lot of pop ups and fly balls. I switched to zone hitting, which is sometimes tougher but have gotten a lot more variety as far as hitting.

Yea, I'm playing with directional hitting. I've played around with zone a bit before. I can see how it appeals to some people (A lot of people it seems like, actually) but it just isn't my cup of tea. I like to try to play with pitch speed at normal, but I've been playing some world series with my dad recently, and he's a pretty old dude, so I turn the pitch speed to 0 to help him cope. It makes it tough for me to go back to regular speed playing solo even just using directional. Put zone hitting on top of that and it's some of the ugliest batting you've ever seen!

Have not gotten many games in this year yet as I am waiting for some fixed up rosters due out today(unless I just stick with yesterdays as I already did my 40 man roster edits) but what is up with throwing? No matter what fielders don't throw with urgency. Noticed this last year and maybe the year before. I want to throw with urgency and gun it.

I always thought I was but maybe doing it wrong. I hold down the button of the base I want to throw to before I field the ball until the blue bar is full or near full.

Sounds as though you're preloading throws correctly. Not sure what else to offer to help in terms of throw urgency.

I'm not seeing any issues with throw urgency myself, but what I consider ok may not be to another.

I'm noticing quite a few instances of infielders coming to complete stops and just standing still before throwing a half-assed toss to a base. Almost like they are waiting for someone to get the bag, but someone is already there.

It's not happening all the time, so I am putting it down to another glitch/bug.

I play a player locked Short Stop and sometimes when its a hard hit ball off the bat with little time to react and charge forward the Short Stop will automatically go into a step back animation.

I will still get a good preloaded throw when this animation is triggered however its the stepping back of the animation which is slow and typically with a fast runner at bat the runner will be safe at first.

The check swing for strike animations must be fixed. I have never seen such choppy, bad animations on this title ever.

I have to believe the team is aware of the check swing issues. It happens all the time on check swing strikes and is a total eye sore. This is from offset zoom camera but I have seen it with other cameras too.

Plus I have never ever seen an appealed check swing called for a strike yet.

Something is up.

I've been starting to wonder lately if the Check-Swing never being called for a Strike is design decision, rather than a bug.

Or through retuning it they broke it, as that would make the RTTS Perk for it pointless.

I haven't been able to play much yet and I just started my franchise with the White Sox. In game 2, top of the 9th, I hit a 2-run go ahead home run with Lawrie and got a "You can put it on the board, yes" home run call! I almost screamed like a little girl haha! Totally unexpected.

This game is so much fun. Was tied 4-4 with Baltimore in the bottom of the 9th. If i could just get Mookie up to bat, I knew this was in the bag. Shaw grounded out, Holt flew out, Swihart knocks a single through the pitcher's legs, I work the count full with JBJ and drop down a HUGE surprise drag bunt for a base hit. Two on, 2 out, #50 strides into the box. First pitch I see, OVAH THE MONSTAH! Betts' second homer of the night walks it off!

It might be my imagination, but I think when playing a home Giants game and homered, I once heard Matt say something like, "And as Duane Kuiper would say, 'IT'S OUTTA HERE!'" Or, something to that effect.
