Re: Stuttering during gameplay?
foul balls down the baselines have stutter which has been there for a while in the show
I think the game only offers 60fps during pitcher vs batter interfaceComment

Re: Stuttering during gameplay?
I guess I'll ask here.
Anyone getting a low framerate at Wrigley? It's playable, certainly, but it almost seems like a locked 30 FPS, even during gameplay. It's definitely not 60.
I'm sensitive to this stuff as a PC gamer (but not to the point where it affects my enjoyment of games).
I have to wonder, if I'm not the only one seeing this, if this was the tradeoff for not having the graphics downgraded after the pitcher selected his pitch in '15.
There's been one time in the first two innings where it looked like 60 - during a replay where basically nothing but the ball and sky were on the screen. When the ball dropped back down to field level the framerate dropped again.
I wish I could show it but the PS4 caps video captures at 30 FPS which makes it pointless. Maybe I can do an off-screen thing with my phone but I don't know.
I even noticed it in challenge of the week which is the same for everyone, so if you can't see it there, you might not be as sensitive to low framerate as some of us are. As someone pointed out 30 FPS is more like the industry standard these days, so it's just not as noticeable to someone who doesn't experience 60 FPS that much.
I'll be completely honest when I say that this was the first thing I noticed when starting up the game. Make of that what you will.Comment

Re: Stuttering during gameplay?
So they intentionally lowered the frame rate? Like I said, most games I play and sports games I play have better frame rate than the show 16 does right now. It changes the gameplay completely for me. I'm going to have fun with it most likely, but the game is not smooth at all.
My tv is an older Samsung and I tried the other hd tv in my house and have the same issue. I don't have any problems with frame rate for any other games right now so I don't see how it's my tv. Definitely a big bummer for an otherwise VERY good game.

Maybe I'm not sensitive to it, maybe it's my TV, or maybe I need to see an eye doctor, but I just don't see it.
EDIT: By saying this I am not disagreeing with or discounting anyone that is noticing/seeing it.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

But there isn't much point in that when I can fire up MGSV with the Asus and see that it's clearly running at 60 FPS the entire time. It has a smoothness that the Show used to have during gameplay (by which I mean pitching/batting/fielding), and it now lacks. It isn't my input display that's causing this.Comment

Re: Stuttering during gameplay?
For the record, I'm on an Asus PC monitor, hooked up to the PS4 through HDMI. I also have a Samsung that I can set up to play the PS4 on as well.

I'm going to have to hook up the PS4 to my Samsung pc monitor then. I currently have it hooked up to my 4k tv and I see some stuttering.Comment

Re: Stuttering during gameplay?
This game is suffering massively from framerate issues. Not AS bad as 14 but way worse than 15, which was pretty smooth.
90%+ of cutscenes are juttery/stuttering for me.
Club logo and 'show 16' swipes, often stop for half a second and are juttery.
Outfield plays suffer from framerate issues.
I've had the ball stutter toward me when I'm batting.
I can't express how dissapointed I am with this. Yes the game looks better than 15, albeit only slightly, but any visual improvements they've made for this version mean absolutely nothing because the game is horrible to watch, thanks to FR problems.
I have a huge amount of respect for the shows devs, it's obvious they genuinely care about their game, but they've dropped the ball here. We've basically gone back two years. It's effectively ruining the game for me.Last edited by Seancefc; 03-29-2016, 02:45 PM.Comment

Re: Stuttering during gameplay?
The stuttering is a show issue it has zero to do with a monitor or the type of tv you have. ZEROComment

Re: Stuttering during gameplay?
if you play super mega baseball, then play this game, you will REALLY notice the framerate issues. Makes the game almost unplayable after playing the other game.Comment

Re: Stuttering during gameplay?
Doesn't mean I don't want it improved. I feel like, as I mentioned before, this is the cost of not having the graphics downgrade for gameplay sequences, as the Show has done for many years. People wanted that - well.....they got it.Last edited by bcruise; 03-29-2016, 02:49 PM.Comment

Re: Stuttering during gameplay?
Now that I see more people have this issue, is there anything SCEA can do in a patch to fix things? Aside from cutscenes in previous games (which I could deal with fine), there's never been this much stuttering.
