if you carry over a 15 chise and save it before advancing to the season, and load it in 16 and advance to regular season from ST you have the correct updated schedule. surprised me. awesome.

Re: Learning your lesson - Go and PLAY!
I won't be able to play the game until late tonight, but I will say that I have managed to complete season's (All 162) in the last two games. The most important thing in doing so is that you can NEVER let it feel repetitive, instead you have to make the Game as exciting as possible. As soon as you start to feel the games get repetitive and dare I say boring over the course of a 162 games, you will make trades or do something radical to try and make your franchise exciting or you will do the unthinkable, you will sim. As soon as you do either one of these things, you will regret it.. because the franchise no longer feels like your own.
So what I find the most effective in dealing with this..
Stop playing your franchise for a couple days- a couple weeks even. At least until the Franchise feels fresh again, to where you are not trying to press at the plate or force pitches to get outs. Another tip I have is actually taking the time to Watch an MLB game, and appreciate the beauty of the sport in it's reality. This always seems to freshen up the game for me.
This is how you get through an entire 162 game season, by keeping it fresh all year long.
Trust me, looking at your stats at the end of the year for team, player, etc... and knowing that it was all you, is a great feeling..NCAAM: Wichita State Shockers

Re: Learning your lesson - Go and PLAY!
I'll wait for the first version of OSFM, and by then I hope to have found a slider set I'm comfortable with and decided on a team to use.
I want to go quite a few years deep in my franchise (play some, sim some), so I do feel OSFM is worth the wait for me. But I won't wait for updated versions, I won't mind a few mistakes or whatnot here and there, and the first version is usually brilliant anyway!
I must say, though, I am intrigued by the idea of playing a full 162-game season instead... I haven't done that yet.Last edited by Entiae; 03-29-2016, 01:06 PM.Comment

Re: Learning your lesson - Go and PLAY!
This is exactly how I'm hoping to play this game this year. In the past, I've always waited for the first version of OSFM and gone from there, but by then, I've played for a month and am not nearly as into it as when it was new.
And really, I never even finish a full season so why does it matter if my AA players are real or not?
But as always, I'll get all bothered by fake players and start over when OSFM drops lol.Comment

Re: Learning your lesson - Go and PLAY!
I agree I'm starting asap no more waiting
]I wrote a similar thread to this last year but i think the message it carries is always worth repeating
Basically, the last few years, ive generally messed around too much when waiting to start my franchise, i would always say to myself things like:
- your sliders arent tested enough
- wait for the OSFM OD Set
- then, may as well for re-rates/pitch edits etc
- there may be another patch, wait for that
- alter my players equipments to be as accurate as possible
...and on and on it went, i was giving myself any excuse not to just go and actually play the game, due to this i was always struggling to get my franchise in (i play all 162), and any post-season, should i get there.
Well, this year its different, its time to finally wise up.
Sliders? Yeah, they may require the odd tweak in future but myself and TNK will have a set out very soon (see Slider forum) and any adjustments can be made on the fly, why on earth do i need to restart a franchise many games in because of one click of a slider left or right? Madness, but i used to do it
Rosters? I will never have a go at anyone that waits for OSFM, ive always done it myself in years past, they are an incredible community based product that deserve all the praise they get...with that said, this year, im not waiting for them. Why?
Because we are possibly looking at a month or so, May, and I simply dont want to waste another 4/5 weeks of possible playtime, when, in reality, i only plan to get one season in, as i play all 162, at a relaxed pace, 2 hours a game, so wanting the correct minors and prospects for seasons to come is futile - ill be onto MLB The Show 17 by then.
Patch? There may be another, but there's no glaring errors that mean waiting, again, likely a month or more for it, it will work on existing games anyway.
So, basically, what AM i worrying about? Why didnt i just start and play in years gone by?
NO MORE i tell you!
So...my message to others in a similar boat thinking about waiting for this, that and the other that they "must have", before starting their franchises...learn from my painful lessons and get started, enjoy the game and go and play.
I'm sure i'm not the only one who's come to see the light where this game and waiting is concerned.
My franchise starts as soon as my sliders are set and the SCEA Opening Day roster comes out, once and for all, and will NOT be restarting, because ive also learned if you keep restarting you simply never finish what you started.
I used to need everything to be perfectly realistic, but ive come to realise that that utopia simply doesnt exist, so ill enjoy the rookies who may come into the big leagues in my franchise for the fictional characters they are, all adds to the imagination
If you are a little OCD and absolutely HAVE to wait for all the edits and re-rates that OSFM will get in the months to come, fair play to you, each to his own and all that, but me, well, i used to be like that, but like i say, lesson learned
Lets play ball!Comment

Re: Learning your lesson - Go and PLAY!
i dont have issues with anyone waiting for osfm. i personally wont.
But waiting till sliders are just so ,or spending the first few weeks looking for bugs and issues with the modes then waiting for a patchto fix them, when proof has shown that the game willnever NOT have bugs and glitches, seems off to me.
Just play the damn thing.Comment

Re: Learning your lesson - Go and PLAY!
for real? this was like the only thing making hesitant on starting a 15 franchise and carrying it over so I don't have to wait on osfm16.. So it will update with the real 2016 schedule ?Comment

Re: Learning your lesson - Go and PLAY!
The beauty of this game is the amount of modes and options you have. I can stay busy playing DD, online franchise, a fantasy franchise, some BR and some Conquest while I await OSFM and a patch to carry over my franchise/classic roster files and begin a fresh new franchise with full minors as I go multiple years (3-5 years typically) with my franchises.
It's Christmas in March boys!!!!

Re: Learning your lesson - Go and PLAY!
You know what, I've changed my mind!
I'm starting my franchise tomorrow. No rosters, no 30-team control, no extensive slider testing. I'll make necessary changes as I go along. My goal is to finish a full season 162-game season (plus playoffs, hopefully!), which would be a first for me.
I'm getting excited!
And if I have a change of mind once more when the OSFM drops, I can always revert to my previous plan.
Why wait when you can play?Comment

In the past ive always waited for OSFM but seriously, im not wasting a month or more waiting anymore.
They will be as brilliant as ever when they drop but ill be 30 games or more deep into my franchise by then and wont be looking back.
For those of us with more limited gaming time (families/kids etc) its the way forwardComment

Re: Learning your lesson - Go and PLAY!
Not sure where this issue is originating from, but as far as I can tell, its not a new franchise, PS4 issue.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I'm contemplating using dynamic difficulty as well, so I'm thinking I might need to play a couple games so I don't start my franchise on easy mode.Comment
