Picking a team for franchise mode

I already know I'm going with my Tigers once the OSFM rosters drop. That's a no-brainer for me. But I'm looking for a secondary team to play with before then, and quite possibly to go along with my Tigers one. But I don't know who to go with.

I'm looking for a team with some cap room to begin with so I can make a couple free agent signings. I also want one that's not quite in a full rebuild mode, but maybe not expected to really contend this year. What teams come to mind within those parameters, if any?

Diamondbacks claim they're contending. I think you only start with 10 million free space but just trade Greinke and get like 80 billion back.

White Sox possibly. They're a contender (although I personally don't believe so.) But I doubt you'd be willing to pick them being a Tigers fan.

Actually basically anyone in the AL Central. While I don't believe any team not named the Royals or Tigers will be too strong this year, all seem to claim they're contending. Twins I find doubtful but they came off an overproductive year. Twins are somewhat young, Indians have pitching and a couple stars.

Mariners have underpreformed but still have key pieces to build around.

Orioles can be a powerhouse if you can find some starting pitching that isn't AA caliber.

Marlins are young, have a couple stars and have the luxury of playing the Braves and Phillies 30 or so times this year.

I was thinking of Arizona as well. I like the Dbacks, especially Goldschmidt. And with their additions, they could be good. I was also thinking of Oakland. They seem to be a true middling team. I'm still unsure
