    Quick Count Request/Idea

I am assuming there was no change to the quick counts and it is still completely random.

I would like ethier a simple of in depth change for next year.

A simple change would be if there are pitchers with high strikeout numbers they start with more counts ahead of the batter (0-1, 1-2, 0-2 etc...) and vice versa for those with high walk rates....You could have multiple assignable pitch count ratings that each pitcher real or created could have assigned to them based on past performance/stats.

A more in depth would be to look at each pitcher individually and the % of each count they achieve before ball is put in play, pitches thrown by inning, pitches a game, vs. LHB vs. RHB and so on.

And of course taking into effect the batter that is at the plate and their tendencies to work the count to be factored in to the pitch counts would be the ultimate.

    Best,

I think they said last year that it wasn't random. It takes into account the attributes of the pitcher and hitter.

No the response form the developers was the exact opposite, it is entirely random in MLB 15, and from the few games I have played in 16 it seems there was no change.

I'm pretty sure it is based on the players and their attributes. I have never had the impression it is randomly generated, and I know it was said that there was "some" type of algorithm involved.

Algorithm is a very broad word/definition, if there is any developers who may cross this thread that could define how the quick counts are derived that would be appreciated.

From my limited playing I did not experience King Felix ahead in more counts then lets say Tyler Chatwood...

I was giving this some more thought, it has to be totally random as there are NEVER any 0-0 quick counts, so it can not be based on any player based stats at all. If it were based on stats there would HAVE to be situations when a ball is put into play on first pitch of an at bat in order to remain statistically accurate to player tendencies.

They already said 0-0 was not one of the counts they used for QC. The attributes are factored in when deciding which count to give you, not the most frequent count that hitter/pitcher sees.

Devs have said that's because a 0-0 count defeats the purpose of quick-counts.
