Using auto baserunning and I can't get my guys to slide the way I want them to. Select the runner with the left stick, use the right stick accordingly, and they still do whatever they want. Sick of being thrown out trying to steal because instead of doing what I tell them and sliding head first to the back of the bag they just casually slide feet first.

So when the next patch is released should we expect this to be addressed? And if so approximately when should the patch be released? Sometime this month maybe?

I've experienced this same base running issue and to me this sort of issue is inexcusable. It seems with the ability to patch games sloppy bugs like this occur more and more often.

I also noticed that with default/auto baserunning, L1 will only cause the lead runner to lead off. If I have the bases loaded, I have to hit L1, then Lstick up+L1, then Lstick right+L1. Pain in the butt and I don't always have time to make all 3 lead off before the pitcher begins his motion.

So frustrated, this is just stupid. I couldn't wait until they fixed classic so I fired up my season again. Just lost in the top of the 9th because my base runners are broken. (I'm not even going to get info the fact that I can't play strategic baseball and try to steal anymore - I've chalked that up as not available through this title at this point).

Now I'm getting mad like the rest of the mob on here. This is a complete game-killing joke.

(I'm not even going to get info the fact that I can't play strategic baseball and try to steal anymore - I've chalked that up as not available through this title at this point).

Yeah only thing I can play is RTTS, but I don't want to play that we just got the rosters and I can even get my Franchises going, lost a game 4-2 in which I should have scored 5+ runs in if not for the classic base running not working. so Guess I'll just play OOTP a game in which I never have issues that stop me from playing the game

It's just frustrating because I paid good money for this great title, and now I can't play it. It's literally broken. I'm taking it back to Best Buy this weekend if it isn't fixed, and I'll let Best Buy deal with SCEA.

I'd be tempted to return it myself, if I hadn't bought it as a digital download from the PS Store.

I'm biding my time playing '15.. tweaking my '16 franchise, waiting until it gets fixed before I put any effort in playing the games.

Some of you guys are a bit over the top, complaining that the issue is a game breaker or that you want to return it. Sheesh. I'm just continuing with my season and dealing with it. It sucks, and its frustrating, but it will be fixed. In the mean time, I've gotten a little better at sending guys to the next base on my own using L3 and the base button rather than L1, and it seems to function better. There are still hiccups when I have a guy with poor baserunning skills who won't listen to my override commands, but I've just been playing it safe lately and haven't run myself into as many outs.

For those who use classic base running....and awaiting the next patch which will fix it....

Why on God's green earth would you not even attempt to learn how to use the quite simple and fully functional default base running mechanic in the meantime?

I find that incredible. I really do. If for some reason classic pitching was not working.....I would be using meter to tide me over till a fix came out.

I look for solutions....I want to play the game. And while I totally understand the immense frustration that something that has always worked all of a sudden is not....you have to know they are going to fix it. It was an obvious code glitch on the patch they released. Of course it was not intentional, and of course they will get it right. And I am sure they are not rushing out this patch like they did 1.04....for this exact reason. They need to throughly test it so it does not damage another part of the game.

In the meantime.....learn another interface (default based running and guys it is easy to use) so you can play the game (while awaiting the next patch) instead of having all this pent up anger about a video game.

Just a thought.

Well...Classic is the only interface I like. Plus I'd have to dicker with sliders again to make it "like Classic" because the reason I like Classic is the "me part" is minimized and the player's abilities matter most, and none of the other interfaces, by design, function that way, so I'd have to "make" them function that way.

I'd probably play the franchise "OOTP-style" (i.e. simming). The reason I pick Classic is because I want ratings to matter. I wouldn't try to refund the game, though. But I would not be happy at all.

Oh yeah...I hear all of that. I would be as furious as those that are furious about classic base running not working. But I channel that energy into figuring out how I can play this game I love dearly while I wait for the fix. Because the fix will come. I played meter pitching for 5 straight years on MVP 2005. I was used to their fielding controls..***nning controls. Then I started playing The Show in 2009 and learned totally new interfaces. Because the game was so damn awesome and I wanted to play it.

So figure it out till then. So much you can do on this game to pass the time. It's totally functional if you choose to try all the options available.

Again I totally get it. But I rather play than let it collect dust for 2-3 weeks. Makes no sense to me. It's highly playable.

Well said, totally agree. I have adopted the default running while waiting and I am now getting quite used to it. I may not go back to classic.
