    I started playing the Show in 2012 and have never voiced a single complaint about anything. It's been that good. So good that I rarely play anything else (NBA 2k on rare occasions).
    But I'm at my wit's end with this baserunning debacle. It is frustrating and disheartening. How many patches now and auto baserunning still full of bugs.
    I play only off-line. In game today, I had my runner on first steal, batter hits a grounder to second. The runner inexplicably runs back to first base. By the time I try to move him manually I'm doubled up.
    Ball hit in gap, rolls to the wall. Batter stops at first.
    My man on second tries to steal third without being prompted.
    I've been switching from classic to default view. Does that have anything to do with anything?
    It's on me. I shook his hand too hard. It was a hard ... kind of a slap-shake.

      That's a new thing they added to auto baserunning either in MLB13 or 14, can't remember.

      On auto, the runner will go on his own sometimes. It can be frustrating, especially since we don't have a "stop sign" or "red light" to give.

            If that doesn't prove the R1 input is happening (again, NOT necessarily by a button press) I don't know what does. It's clear as day that, on the crack of the bat, it activated (flashed orange) and sent every runner back. 1st and 3rd more likely with a slide, given their positions on the baserunning display and how long it took them to get moving again.

            That is not AI. That is an input problem. It is overriding whatever the AI was going to do. And if it didn't happen because of an accidental button press, then I agree it's a major problem.

              More video evidence:

              3-2 count, 2 outs, runners on 1st and 2nd. There is a big issue when sending the runners which you will always do in this situation. I cannot be any faster when inputting the Home command but it's irrelevant in this case.

              There never should've been a slide into 3rd to begin with. This hit cleared the infield and fielders with no doubt, yet the slide still happened. I've seen posts lately that theorized it was a bouncer through the infield or close to being caught that would cause this, but the 2B never even goes into a fielding animation.

              For those of you who have never seen this, well, good for you. Disregard the mess after the runner slides into 3rd...I tried to remedy with L1 taps and manual inputs so who knows what actually happened after that point.

              If someone can tell me how to embed the video I'll edit the post to do so I apologize for just the link.

                There is a clear logic issue with assisted sliding on with either default or classic base-running.

                When you send runners before the ball is hit they will be sometimes (depends on speed rating) more than halfway to the bag and for some reason the AI/code is not recognizing the ball is through the infield.....even getting the home command in...the slide mechanism is kicking in and can't be overrode (animation starts and has to finish).

                It's a problem.

                      I play on Auto, and I've noticed a lot lately that sometimes, the auto is on and I'm not in control of the runners. But other times, the L button is up and it wants me to tell it what to do. Its frustrating, because I don't know until the ball is in the air.
                      Anyone who claims to be a fan of two teams in the same pro sport is actually a fan of none.

                        Yep major screw up this year for MLB The Show. I use auto baserunning and before the latest update I didn't know what all the fuss was about. Just played a game and oh my my runners would not advance or tag up at times. Also the L button started showing up and also started prompting me to push L1 to tag up.

                            This is so funny to me... I came here today to START a post asking about this. I figured I CAN'T be the only one seeing this. I know it's customary on practically any forum that talks sports games to treat The Show like it's infallible but this single base running, sliding, control of the runners issue is as bad as ANY of the problems people used to chew out the 2K series for. I'd say 60-80% of the time, if I've got runners on and get a hit to the outfield, one if not all the runners will be held up in animations and delayed responses to commands that either cost me an out or get me stuck at a base when I should have advanced. It is a massive, glaring, hole in the gameplay. And so are these... -Why do runners always turn to head back to a base like they're stuck in quick sand? -What's with the slowed down sliding animations? -Why can an infielder NEVER take the shortest path to the base with his arm when trying to tag out a runner? -Why does the first baseman on pickoffs beat the runner every time by 2 feet but the runner returning to the bag is never called out? The worst thing is that I can almost predict when these are gonna happen because the animations leading up to them are burned into my head from playing so many games. How do we get them to pay attention to these things so they can fix them???

                              They have to fix baserunning guys...This glitch is akin to not WR's not running their routes in Madden (i.e. Slant instead of Fade). It's simply unacceptable.

                              This game could be AMAZING, but this is unacceptable and must be fixed. Having relievers being put in AI rotations is one thing, but this is THE MECHANICS OF THE GAME ITSELF...UNACCEPTABLE.
                              Unfortunately the auto baserunning issue still not fixed since the first patch though it is better. I have seen all the issues raised by others in this thread pre and post patch. There were no problems with auto baserunning last year. I like that they tried this year to give those, like me, who wanted more autonomy over the base runner with auto baserunning on. It is just not there yet. I would prefer they go back.to last year version and try again for next year. The only thing I want to make clear is the problem is NOT user error. Those of us who are using auto baserunning have been doing so for years without user error. I lose potentially 1-2 runs every game because of the auto baserunning glitches.

                                Since I moved my fingers to the back of the controller and not on the Triggers I have had zero issues with auto base running.
