RTTS Issue - Go directly to next game is grayed out

I started a new RTTS character, but the option to go directly to a new game instead of the games menu is grayed out, did I miss an option somewhere?

Are you starting a series against a new opponent?

Yeah it will be grayed out if that was the last game of the series.

Yeah not an issue. The feature isn't available in showcase and you can only play the next game in the series against the same opponent.

I don't know it's a bug or not! But when you were in the postseason, It's always grayed!

Yeah not an issue. The feature isn't available in showcase and you can only play the next game in the series against the same opponent.

I am not in showcase but am a pitcher which only plays every 5 days, so that explains it. Thanks.

Most likely as others have stated your opponent is changing and the game needs to load new team data.

The real problem with the next game feature is that it doesn't change the weather or anything about the game. I used it after a night game and the next game was a day game, but the game was at night again. Uniforms don't change either, as both games were played in throwback uniforms.

I guess there's no other way to really do it though, but if they could figure out a way where the games were actually different, it'd be a lot better/

That would require the game to load new jerseys, and sky/lighting effects basically defeating the whole purpose of quickly moving from game to game. Basically it resets the game

But I get what you're saying it sucks and does harm the realism a little bit. But sacrifices must be made if you want convenience.

I don't even have the option to go directly to the next game. I thought maybe I couldn't do it because it was the last game of the series, but I started a new 3-day series and the option isn't available. Is this only a PS4 feature? I am playing on PS3. If so, I'm very disappointed because this was one thing that actually helped push me over the edge in deciding if I should purchase the game.

It changed weather for me. One day at GABP it was raining, the next game it was overcast.

What position are you? If you're a pitcher, your next outting is likely to be in the next series, which requires you to exit so the game can reload the new team.

If that's not it, then maybe the manager just wants to sit you for the rest of the series.

What position are you? If you're a pitcher, your next outting is likely to be in the next series, which requires you to exit so the game can reload the new team.

If that's not it, then maybe the manager just wants to sit you for the rest of the series.

I'm the starting 2B. When it exits out of the game and back to the main menu, I press "play next appearance" and it takes me to the next game of the series. So I know it's not that I'm being benched. However, during the game it goes directly to my next AB, without needing a load/sim screen as in previous years. So it seems the feature SHOULD be available, but it's just not. I don't get the opportunity to play games as much as I used to(the reason I still have PS3), so the ability to advance between games quickly was a major factor in me purchasing the game. In previous years, I don't think I've ever gotten past my 3rd year, even though I love playing it. I just find it hard to believe that they would promote this feature heavily and neglect to mention that it's only available on one platform.

Actually, looking at the features list they released, it says this..

“Advance Day” o For the first time ever in the MLB The Show franchise, you can play an entire series of Road To The Show games without ever having to navigate the main menu between games. (PS4 only).

They didn't neglect to mention it. On the features list they released, it says PS4 only. I don't think the PS3 hardware could handle this feature TBH.
