MLBTS experts, whats going on with my batting

Hoping an MLB expert/veteran can shed some light on something. I've gone to the show site several times to look up the manual, but the site is always under heavy load.

I bat with pure analog and stride, so I'm not sure if this is strictly a pure analog thing or not.

When aiming where to swing with the left stick, often I'll see my swing was not there I aimed it. I then made sure to hold only a certain direction while swinging, and still, sometimes it works, sometimes it's opposite corner.

Is this there something I'm doing wrong? Are a player stats heavily involved with the accuracy of a swing, or am I not even able to aim to a specific region, I just think I can? lol.

    Thanks in advance!

Left stick is not used in analog hitting unless you have the Zone Plus Analog thing going where you right stick swing and move the PCI with the left stick at the same time. I'm not in game right now where I can check exactly what those options are, but I'll check in about a half hour if no one beats me to it. In the past, the only directions the right analog covered in pure analog were left and right - up and down were left to your timing + the hitter's attributes.

Yeah, you can do zone with analog input type to use both sticks. I think that's the only option combination that works like that.

Thanks for your quick response! I actually used to use Zone, but I'm not sure why I stopped to be honest. Thanks for your help!

Not true, you can also use Directional + Analog.

If he's got it set to Pure Analog though rather than Directional, then there is indeed nothing happening when he points the left stick anywhere.

Good catch. Didn't know that was possible.

Also something I didn't no in till last year by finding out on hear that explains why I sometimes fell like my PCI either is higher or lower then were I pushed the left stick is that the timing of your swing also impacts were the PCI ends up. I forget so I may be saying this backwards but I think if you swing early the PCI will end up higher and if you swing late I think the PCI will end up lower.

This was correct, and it might still be correct to some extent, but, with the newly implemented Precision Input, I think the effect of timing to the PCI placement feels very much toned down from past years.

Not sure the change is just in visual presentation of PCI placement, or if the effect itself has really been toned down. For one thing, it is not very hard this year to pull high (and inside) fastballs, which in the past was substantially harder. With this years game, the PCI seems to stay in place where you place it with L1 regardless of timing for the most part.
