So is this not possible? Pinch hitting for the number 8 and 9 batters. Start next inning i what to leave in one of the pinch hitters to play 3rd while moving the guy on 3rd to SS and bring in a new pitcher. In this case i pinch hit for the SS batting 8th and then the pitcher.

Should work, when you select double switch when putting the new pitcher in, select the guy you want to remove. You can switch the positions after making the swap. You can also leave the pinch hitter on the mound and make all your position changes, then call in the new pitcher.

It is possible to leave that player in. What you do is in the next inning you have to substitute out your pitcher first and then it prompts you if you want to leave that position player in the game. From there you just sub out the position player and you are set.
