I want something that resembles real baseball. Sometimes guys are all over a pitch timing wise and still swing through the pitch. If they didn't, averages and homeruns would be through the roof. I just want the pci to work like it should. It covers this amount of space, if u miss it completely it should 100 % of the time be a strike. Anything inside the pci should be where the ratings/sliders affect the outcome. Thoughts?

Human batters not swinging and missing enough
This is and has been my biggest peeve w hitting for years now. I thought this is what precision input would help with. I'm hitting on HOF difficulty. This shouldn't happen. My pci is big and I missed where the ball was and still fouled it off? The only way I seem to strike out a lot is if I bump pitch speed up and then I have no chance to ever turn on a pitch. I might have to institute some house rules and lower vision of all my players to help combat stuff like this. I'm not sure your sliders help w that.

Re: Human batters not swinging and missing enough
The visible size of PCI is an average of Contact and Vision attributes, so just because the ball is outside the circle does not actually mean that you missed the contact. I think the "foul zone" of PCI (which should correlate more with Vision attribute) extends far outside the edge of PCI.
Also, I've noticed that the pitch location on the swing feedback sometimes does not seem to accurately reflect where pitch was... which might be a bug. -
Re: Human batters not swinging and missing enough
Interesting, I find the most realistic at bats is when you max out both pitch speeds. Gives that great feeling when you're ready to hit the fastball, and get the off speed stuff. I have no problems turning on pitches when maxed, but everyone has different reaction times!1458, not counting playoffs, that's the number of games in a row I haven't missed! Go Yanks!Comment

Re: Human batters not swinging and missing enough
The pitch marker in the feedback shows where the pitch was when it crossed the zone, not where it was when you swung.
So since you you were late on the pitch, the pitch was actually further along in its trajectory, and thus lower. Since you swung low, that would place the pitch right in your swing area.
Nonetheless, if human batters are not swinging and missing enough, I would suggest that human batters start lowering the difficulty level! You can also lower the Contact slider, but that road is a bit more complex than the other.Comment

Lower human contact sliders to 4. This helped me with the issue a lot.Comment

Re: Human batters not swinging and missing enough
Agreed if you are an experienced zone user. I just made the switch this year so all star default sliders are giving me pretty realistic #'s.
Last game Astros (me) vs. Yankees I had a 9% swinging strike and 15% foul ball rate which are right in line with mlb averages. Planning on dropping the AI foul slider though. Im seeing them at a 20-25% rate consistently.Comment

Re: Human batters not swinging and missing enough
I do kind of agree with this. Even when I like don't hit well I don't tend to miss a lot of pitches more just hit a lot of balls at people or ground out a lot or something. I don't strike out much at least last year I didn't. I need to play this game more this year before I can really say but I know last year I would have a lot of games were even though I only had 1-3 runs and like 3-6 hits in a game I would only have like 2 strike outs or something.Comment
