    Re: Roof vs weather

Weather will either be clear skies or partly cloudy with roofs closed. The devs couldn't figure out how to code the weather so you could make it overcast or rain only outside of the stadium with a closed roof without really screwing stuff up. One of them said they should have it fixed for next season I think. And the roofs do not actively open/close mid-game, that's something they said they're looking at figuring out down the road

I thought that the roof stayed closed all game if it starts that way in real life.

This is not true. I had a game at Marlins Park with the roof closed and Rain as the weather.

But did you see the rain and dark sky out of the windows or was it clear and sunny? You can select the rain option but it will still be sunny outside.

I've been at several games at Rogers Centre where it was raining when the game started and then the roof opened when the rain passed.

the roofs for me always seem to pic opened before I start a game even if its overcast clear skys or Party cloudy I am guessing I can only have it closed myself manually it hasn't picked random weather yet for rain

One thing I noticed is that even though the roof is closed it's still cold.

Miller Park - Roof Closed 32 degrees. The sides are not closed, only the roof. Miller Park is like a Transformer there are so many configurations, surly a home park advantage.

I just tested this. Played 2 night games in April one with it closed and one with the roof open.

Roof Closed - the broadcasters mentioned it was cold outside but in the stadium the players had short sleeves, fans short sleeves, umpires short sleeves. Seemed like a normal indoor game.

Roof Open - Players long sleeves, fans big heavy jacket/hats, umpires jackets.

It seems to work like its supposed to.

If you just let the game pick it will be closed eventually. Usually in early april/late september and october games. Occasionally the summer rain game
