Re: Time to waive the white flag?
I can try that. I'm not sure I'm coordinated or fast enough to do anything but press x. What is your solid hit slider at?Yankees modern day

Re: Time to waive the white flag?
I was having this problem too with directional. I got good results with pure analog, but using that hurt my shoulder (old sports injury), so I had to find a solution that worked using directional (or slow down the pitches for zone).
In the end I created the following sliders: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...g-sliders.html
This is what works for me. The key I found was setting solid contact at 10. That's right, 10. I still get weak popouts, choppers and grounders, but now only on pitches I deserve to get it on. No more fastballs down the middle that I time perfectly and are just weak flyouts.
I know you think this is cheating but it's getting me the same results I was getting with pure analog and no human slider changes.Comment

Re: Time to waive the white flag?
I've played on HOF & I'm having the same issue. I've switched to All Star & I'm doing much better than I was. But it's maybe a little too easy for me. I trying to find that happy medium. I'm going to stick to HOF & hopefully find my happy place.

Re: Time to waive the white flag?
I have to semi-agree with the poster who said to try different sliders. I am firmly in the camp that no two people can play this game exactly the same way, so therefore no one set of sliders can possibly suit the masses (this is why I don't play online, as well).
My advice is to continually tweak your sliders. Eventually, you will have them set to something that works properly for YOU. I was new to The Show last year, and it took me about a month, but my sliders ended up providing great results for the way I play. Also -- have you considered the "dynamic" setting that tweaks your level based on your playing? From what I can tell, it seems to work pretty well.Comment

Re: Time to waive the white flag?
It's starting to remind me of MLB13's timing window, which I hated.
I turned pitch speeds to 10 and, according to the game, I'm early a lot of the time, even though I don't "feel" early based on what I see."Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment

Re: Time to waive the white flag?
You could always try switching to dynamic difficulty. You can keep the sliders, and the game will kind of even out for you. When you feel like you've hit your sweet spot, turn the sensitivity slider to 0 and you'll be locked in.
I used it all of MLB 15 and it was the best playing game of The Show that I've had.Comment

Re: Time to waive the white flag?
I don't know anything about dynamic difficulty as I've never used it. I've always just played on AllStar with Armour's sliders and have had great results and lots of fun. How do I use it? When do you know when you have hit your sweet spot? This is just so disappointing to me as I have always had great experiences with this game and I have never had to second guess the level I play on or the sliders.
Dynamic Difficulty is a setting which starts you hitting at the lowest level (that's the only bad thing, as you unfortunately you can't begin at a higher level). So initially you will find it rather easy to hit. But as you improve, the level of difficulty will gradually--and automatically--increase until it reaches a level that you are comfortable with--it doesn't matter what that ends up being really, as long as it is a good challenge for you. Dynamic actually uses more, lets call them "sub-levels" within veteran, all-star, etc, than you get by picking a level on your own, so theoretically it should be better at getting you to exactly the proper level for your ability.
So if you decide to try Dynamic, just go into your 'Gameplay Options' / 'Batting & Baserunning' and switch the Hitting Difficulty to 'Dynamic'. Then go into the slider settings and move the top slider, 'Dynamic Difficulty Sensitivity' all the way to the right (lvl 10) so your level of difficulty will increase as quickly as possible towards your proper setting. Once you get to where it seems correct--where hitting feels like it's a proper challenge--you can always lower that slider back down. As far as knowing when it's "right", I know some people suggest setting that slider back to zero to "lock it in", but I'm not sure just reducing it back down to 5 (or maybe 3-ish) wouldn't make more sense for you. The game will then keep monitoring your level and keep making marginal adjustments if necessary as you keep improving or if you were to start having trouble again. It just won't be adjusting nearly as fast. You should notice when your leveling up basically stops.
One last note. In the Gameplay Option, the last screen is the 'General' tab. There is a Dynamic Difficulty Update selection you need to make to pick how often you are notified of your current level. The choices are 'Progress' where you are notified every time you improve or decline; 'New Level' only notifies you when you go up or down a FULL level; or 'Game Start' where your current level is displayed at the beginning of every game. At first your level will likely improve rapidly, so it's up to you if you want to get updates on your screen all the time. You can obviously change that any time, so pick what you think suits you and go from there. Hope that helps explains it well enough for you, but good luck whatever way you go!Comment

Re: Time to waive the white flag?
ya dude Dynamic Difficulty is the way to go...its nice cuz if u go on a horrible cold streak itll drop down to where you'll come back up and vice versa....but dont worry man....everyone wants a challenge but hates when the challenge almost breaks u. i get into those times where i am flipping out, but also the times where im lighting pitchers up! dont worry...getting romped isnt always a bad thingComment

Re: Time to waive the white flag?
Maybe this was already mentioned in this thread and I missed it, but changing the camera has always worked wonders for me in helping me hit. I'm using Offset 2 a lot this year, I've tried Fisheye, MLB 16, MLB 15, and Catcher High also. All have their advantages but I'm finding Offset 2 to be my best for hitting so far.Comment
