I was really hoping “Hybrid” would be “Fast Play” between pitches (no delays, no cutaways), and “Broadcast” between batters and between innings (replays of notable plays, pans of ballpark, etc.).

Oh well.

They are assigned to individual teams based on market size. Play a game with the Brewers at home then play one as the Yankees at home. You will see a difference in the score bug and starting line-up graphics.

I did not know that.

I wrote a quick tutorial outline in the link below. You will need to scroll to the middle of the page and you will see my notes. Let me know if you are not able to see the forum thread.

You will be forced to play on Fast Play but it's much better than pressing the "O" Button after each play. I use player lock it will probably be removed once a patched is release so enjoy while you can!


I just walked up to bat in my first Franchise game down 3 to 0 not even knowing how the computer got three points in the first inning! Grrrrrr....

All i know is if I go hybrid with quick counts on, the longest a game has been is 40 min for me. With broadcast with quick counts on it's at least an hour. I couldn't tell you the differences, I just know hybrid is faster for me.

We went through a bunch of categories and have prevented hundreds (possibly even over a thousand) unnecessary presentations from playing.

We chose situations within these categories that we deemed to be unimportant or uninteresting. This first pass at Hybrid Mode will not only speed up the game, but is also a step in the right direction in preventing old and boring presentations from watering down new and interesting content. A very short AI scene presentation plays when Hybrid Mode has turned off old content (remember the “Chillax” presentation?). Some of the categories we covered (to some degree):

Flyout
Lineout
Soft Lineout
Popout – Bunt
Popout – Advance
Popout
Groud Out – Force At First
Post Pitch

Will there be anything done about presentation modes while using Player Lock and coming into a game with the CPU team up by X number of runs with out any context of how they scored in a future patch?

From reading through this thread I guess I'm in the minority, but there is definitely a difference in the two modes. Broadcast there is usually a cutaway and commentary between every pitch, where as hybrid is more like fast play between pitches. The amount of replays and presentation packages between at bats is greatly reduced, and the game intro is also shortened up. I would still recommend fast play if you're wanting to significantly cut down game time, but hybrid mode is definitely a happy medium for those who don't want to play a 90 minute + game.

If you use player lock then no unless you press "O" each time to watch the game play out. It will make some reference to how you are doing.

Otherwise if you play full team control you will hear reference to how the team is doing.

Just a heads up, the watch Gameplay selection has been fix. I no longer have to press O after every play to have it continue while in Broadcast. I pressed it once and it lasted the whole game. Now to fix being able to watch the top of the 1st inning your not playing in.

I play as an RttS Pitcher so I miss my teams at bat at the top of the 1st while visiting, also warmup pitches <---this was last year also
