    Target Field Weather

I already posted a bug report about this over at TSN, but it's been happening since MLB 10, so idk if it's a bug or an error in Target Field's climate, but anyways..........

Some Twins fans that play a franchise might notice that Target Field's weather doesn't change throughout a season in-game. Of course IRL Minnesota is a continental climate, so the weather change throughout the year is quite noticeable. No matter what month, the temperature pretty much stays the same. 80 degrees. I have 2 pics from April and one from July. Average temp for Minneapolis in April is about 58 degrees. The temperature in July is 83 degrees, probably a little below average as well, especially for a day game. Not really the biggest issue for me, but considering it's been happening since Target Field was first implemented in MLB 10, I'm wondering if any of the Devs are at least aware of this.

They are aware of it. I actually brought it up personally... I thought it would be fixed this year. The problem is actually that the temperature is actually representative of the Metrodome temperature. However, for now, you can override the weather itself in franchise.

Edit: actually, looking at your screens, that's an improvement. It used to be a steady 77 degrees.

      Not temperature though.

Anyway I just played a game in Detroit where it was 31 degrees, was a little disappointed there was no cold breath or anything really that would indicate it was that cold apart from long sleeves. Point being, apart from long sleeves you aren't missing anything. There's literally no difference between 55 degrees and 85 degrees, presentation-wise, and other than long sleeves, no difference between 31 and 85 for that matter.

Shoot! I've always played as the twins and have never noticed this. If this ruins the twins for me I'm going to be so mad at you for pointing this out! I don't even know who else to play as.

The clothing for the fans and now umpires(finally) still changes based on the temp. But your right, other then that there is no real difference in temps -there are quite a few things they could do to improve this. At this point its just immersion breaking. Once you can ignore it then your good to go.

Yea I remember hearing somewhere that they were aware of it, just wasn't sure if it was still being looked at or not. Unfortunately, even being able to override the actual weather condition doesn't change the temperature. I think the whole thing of seeing sleeves early/late in the season brings a different feel to the franchise. At least to me, personally.

You guys are right in the fact that temperature only affects whether or not players wear sleeves. It's a really nitpicky thing for me, but I'm always the guy that likes seeing the little things in there. Though it definitely does bring up a good discussion on weather possibly having an affect on games in the future.

We really should be allowed to set the temperature in games, too.

The weather thing at Target Field has always bugged me as well. When I was looking at your screens I also thought the wind was screwed up too. I thought it said 142 mph not 14.2 mph. Same with the 9.1 mph in the second screenshot.

I'll trade you guys. I'd prefer that then the comically cold temps they give Toronto every single year. I've seen 50F days in August. Sometimes I think SDS believes everyone in Canada DOES live in igloos. At least with the closed roof this year I can just pretend it's raining or something.

Speaking of weather - Has anyone noticed if, when it rains, the fans get under cover or put on raincoats? Any puddles form on the field? (LOL)

It would be nice if they could put in real time weather like weather.com i remember madden had this at one time. So I live in Houston, Tx and i know what the weather is for today, but if I went and played in Milwaukee it would be there real time weather based of weather.com, i think madden even had there logo and everything.

I know baseball is probably better to be played a year behind, so if they got all the weathers from games the year before and added that into the game would be a nice start.

Can't do real time weather in a baseball game.

If I'm in July right now in a Pirates franchise I shouldn't be playing in snow like I would be today if it existed.

Wonder if it has anything to do with playing in a dome before they moved to the new stadium. Some setting in the game.

Yea as Slab brought it up in a previous, it's the main reason. I had always thought this was the case, but never heard a definitive answer. Hopefully someone sees this, would be nice if it could somehow be patched. Idk what exactly they'd have to do, though.
