    Re: Target Field Weather

My BIG question is what about wind?
We havent seen wind since they started with ball physics.
Id like to see games at Wrigley with wind blowing out almost be a HR derby and see balls go over OF heads
    And Vice Versa
Wind blowing in like to see low scoring games.
All in all I just want to see wind be part of the game again

They do have wind as an influencer, per the screenshot. Getting stadium specific wind would
probably be extremely hard - they could probably tweak for Wrigley... but doing wind patterns for 30 teams would be crazy intensive and they'd have to get the data, which may not exist.

          Apr - 64
          May - 74
          Jun - 81
          Jul - 82

          Sep - 74
          Oct - 64
Has Arizona also been fixed? We have opposite problem. Temps have been way too low. I have pointed this out now for years. Here are Phoenix averages:

          86 April
          95 May
          104 June
          106 July
          104 August
          100 September
          89 October

Even with the averages, I cannot recall the last time we had a high of only 106 in the summer.

Judging from some of the posts, I guess some changes need to be made for a few areas. With them having the correct sun positions for all of the ballparks, it would be cool to see them implement some real-life weather patterns to give us more accurate conditions. I wanna say Madden had or has something similar that produces realistic weather patterns depending on time of the year, could be completely wrong though. I'm making it sound really complicated, but it would be cool if for one series it's somewhat warm, and the next series the temperature drops quite a bit and rains all series. Maybe less random weather is what I'm saying.

Every time they discuss the weather effecting game play they really never go into details that answer any of the questions people have. Like how throwing errors go up in rainy conditions. Is that new or was it in from last year? If it was I never saw it. They discuss how the temp will effect the ball physics but that's all they say.

To me, this is more of a "little thing". Instead of discussing this they have to go over DD yet again. I would like them to take time and actually discuss this instead of just glossing over it.

Agreed. At this rate, though, I'd be completely happy for this year regarding weather if we got some cold/long sleeve games at Target Field in April and October. I can pretty much wait on the rest.

Why can't we just set the temperature ourselves?

I think field and weather conditions have not been a high priority for them given some of the bigger ideas they have wanted to implement. Let's hope next year they focus more on weather and field conditions, which are huge parts of the game IRL. When it rains the field should be visibly wet, the player jerseys should be wet and muddy, umbrellas in stands, and the baselines and batter box should really degrade. Fielding should be much more difficult (more dropped balls), runners should be slower, etc.

Even on a dry day IRL the batter box lines are virtually gone by 3rd-4th inning. I still don't think that has been implemented well. The mound should also show some wear over the innings. IMO these are much more important than a challenge system.

Cant have you making it 30 degrees at the Trop, that would make it seem like Sternberg dont pay that electric bill.

You mean it isn't 72 degrees all year round everywhere?

In general I think all aspects of the field and ambiance are the most important aspects to focus on for the graphical teams. They really need to get that stuff down, and they do seem to be improving every year. They haven't quite hit that level where I am happy or even content with certain things, but this year makes for a pretty solid foundation to build on. I really think year two of no PS3 is going to pay off. I just hope weather, colors, grass, dirt, and the rest of the lighting system can be improve a lot for 18 as well.
