I will never understand this game. I am at home against one of the worst teams in the league with my ace on the mound and I give up a 3 run homer before the first out is even recorded. I got so frustrated that I just simmed the game and ended up winning anyway, but I just don't understand this game sometimes. - Mariners

The very first thing to understand about baseball is the fact that is a marathon. Anything can happen to any team, no matter how good or bad they are, in a short amount of time. The worst team ever would even beat the best team ever a small percentage of the time. Play it out

Also, keep in mind the ball physics on flyballs in The Show is not as...urgent...I guess...as IRL (they float/hang in the air too much). 4.3s opportunity time. If I understand what that means correctly...The Show doesn't come close to replicating this.

I mean, 2% chance. Even he probably doesn't get to that ball again if he had to do it again.

By the way this happened in extras, since their freakin' leadoff hitter hit his second home run to tie the game off my closer in the 9th (He hit 50% of his year's total in one game against me!). We lose the game in the bottom of the 10th after getting the first two outs and then two rookies beat me on back to back hits. Some days the game just decides you're not going to win today!

Ball physics on wild pitches is completely messed up. I've stopped even trying to take a base because I was constantly being throw out because the ball rockets off the backstop straight back to the catcher. Two plays that happened to me in particular on wild pitches stick out. First involves a play at home. Wild pitch to the backstop, so I send my runner with 91 speed home. Ball rockets off the backstop all the way back to the pitcher who is running towards home plate and he has time to pick it up and throw it back to the catcher who has miraculously stopped, turned around, and made it back to home plate. Runner is out at home.

The second play I have zero explanation for. I'm trying to figure out how to get the replay uploaded so others can see it because it's 100% BS. But I'll try to put it into words here. Wild pitch to the backstop that bounces and rolls about halfway back to home plate. While the catcher is on his way to pick it up the ball some unseen force just picks the ball up and zips it straight into the pitchers glove. The catcher isn't near the ball, and on the replay you can clearly see it stop, then take off again. Fishy to say the least.

"So, I just got called up to The Show in my RTTS, pitching my first game for the Dodgers. And I'm pitching lights out, like it's still on Rookie or something. I even took a no-hitter into the 8th inning. But then I walk a guy, and wouldn't you know the ******* manager takes me out?! WITH the no-hitter intact! So I'm watching the rest of the game sim, and it doesn't take long to lose not only the no-no, but the LEAD as well! The FIRST batter after I get taken out goes yard to tie the game. I go from a possible no-hitter to a guaranteed no-decision in one single at-bat.

I can't believe this. Fix this manager AI SCEA. I'm THIS close to trading in this game."

It seems like there has been some misunderstanding of the thread makes me think there is an SDS conspiracy and almost made me return the game because my entire experience felt ruined...

Then again it could be my frustration the game itself. I mean, I blew out my rival 11-0 one day then the next day they beat me 11-1 to re-tie the division. The game doesn't let you get too big a cushion and rubberbands you back, no matter well you played the night before. The clearest part of the CPU-cheat-rubberband-come back code: a guy who has never had a hit in the majors in two seasons hits a blast into the upper deck off me. I threw a 2-hitter the night before, and then the game treats me like I'm throwing batting practice. Maybe there was a patch I missed that messed up pitching? Yeah, that must be it, and I'll blame SDS and Madden while I'm at it.

                Now we're back on track.

BTW, the Cubs are stuck on Beginner hitting, scoring 10 runs or more in each of their last 4 games.

Meant to post this a few days ago...

Huge game in my giants franchise. If we win then we go 1.5 games back of the dbacks. Playing the Rockies and up 2-0 in the seventh. Bumgarner throwing a shutout but allows the first three to get on so I bring in a reliever.

I pitch careful to Arenado and walk him. Then I get a clutch double play! 2-2 now, still tied.

The next batter hits a groundball to Crawford, one of the best defensive shortstops in the league. Plenty of time, but makes a terrible throw to Belt! Still catchable though... and he drops it! We go down 3-2 and lose the game. The comeback code in this game is ridiculous.

4 and 1 half hours 9 inning game that doesnt involve Red Sox/Yankees or a weather delay?
Loved all the little things this one had to offer and no cut cutscenes either. I was in heaven, only closer score could have made this one better (17-5) though Pittsburgh held an early lead and the score was tied in the 6th inning before Philadelphia hung 7 in the 7th.

So I come back to tie the game and take it to extras. I was unable to score in the top half so I thought I would leave my closer in for just a few more pitches. Of course his first pitch in the 10th is a moon shot walk off for the Angels. This game is just impossible sometimes.

It's impossible to get any run support on days Jacob deGrom pitches. Hitting is scripted on those days

25 runs? Are you serious? I know my team is under .500 but come on. My AA pitchers probably wouldn't give up that many runs!

No major league staff is that bad. This game is so scripted. Look at the innings after the first - three every single time! What's the odds of scoring three runs per inning for four innings in a row?

Then the minute I get one run...BAM the script gives them six.

Someone needs to tell me what to do about this. Don't even tell me that "it happens" because it's off and you and I both know it.

I thought hitting was broken in this game. You seem to show the CPU knows how to hit. How did you get Jose Reyes to pitch? I can't get Ohtani to play the field and pitch...was there a setting I was supposed to check before I started my franchise? Maybe you need to lower the difficulty to give you a chance. Change it from "Rookie" to "Mets"....I find that helps.

I tried using the "Mets" setting you suggested...but all of my players instantaneously became injured and the game froze on the loading screen

This game is clearly still cheating. Gave up one run in eighth innings. Then like magic can’t get anybody out and they tie the game and of course I lose the game in ten innings- Yankees
