I've submitted a bug report, but was wondering if anyone has encountered this and has an explanation. When taking a pitch, a floating baseball will often appear (head-high) immediately after the pitch. In the photo, you can see it in front of the batting lineup on the scoreboard. I first noticed it last year (my first with the game), but it is still happening this year.

How long is it floating there? Because last year I used to think the same thing then I realized it's just the catcher throwing the ball back and I'm pressing X right at the time where the ball appears then stops mid-air, it will stay there for a second while the next screen loads.MLB: Cardinals

I use Fast Play presentation, with no cutaways from the batting camera, and I’ve seen this floating baseball. Generally on screen for less than a second.Comment

Does it happen on pitch outs? And does it dance around?

It's only there for a second or two. It's not the catcher throwing the ball back because it appears and disappears in the same location, no forward or lateral movement.Comment
