Batting - Best Method? And Are There "Penalties"?

    Hello,

I have a question in regards to batting, and what the consensus is for the most effective method between Directional, Pure Analog, and Zone? Also, what, if any, are the "penalties" for using a certain method. Like is there a higher reward for Zone hitting since it seems to require a bit more skill? Or is it a purely cosmetic/preferential setting?

The only thing I can think of is that with zone, you can better control whether you hit a grounder or lift the ball by where you place the PCI. Other than that, I wasn't sure if there's any other bonuses.

I have always used zone, but have really been cold at the plate recently. I switched to Analog, and I have been raking ever since. The only thing that irks me, is that with Zone, even when I'd correctly guess the pitch type and location, and I have my big bat at the plate... he'd hit like a lazy grounder or something like that, even with good timing and a ball in the strike zone. I just don't get it, there seems to be zero benefit to guessing correctly, but an incorrect guess will leave you looking foolish.

    Thoughts?
