If You paid for Auto Baserunning you should get auto baserunning. A lot of people did not buy 2K because auto baserunning was not in the game. But you knew that upfront. We all know it is a great game and sometimes that can be a burden, expectations can be high. But Autobaserunning have always worked.

Re: MLB The Show Update V. 1.03
Well you are certainly right about that. Everyone has their own things that are important to them. And that's fair enough. To continue his analogy I guess you guys are the ones who have the beat up cars that are still running, they still get you from point A to B. We're the ones sitting here without a wheel being told to walk. We each play the game differently, for me without auto baserunning working it's a broken car.
I guess I'm just glad I wouldn't let something like that ruin the game for me. It's an excellent game in my opinion despite its faults. And I'm getting a lot of enjoyment out of it even though there are a couple things I'd love to see addressed.Comment

Actually this is a great example of something that is literally unable to be used so I'm glad you are the one that brought it up.
You're saying buying a car without a working AM radio is undriveable with this issue. Two VERY different severity's.Comment

You're right. If I took the car back to the dealer they would fix it or give me a car with working wheels right away. Consumers like you are why the gaming industry is so corrupt. You accept their faulty product every year without complaint.
So every year you get a faulty product. Just like Madden I will stop buying this game. I want what I paid for. I shouldn't have to wait until online and battle royale nonsense, of which I have no interest, is fixed before I can get a working game.Comment

Re: MLB The Show Update V. 1.03
I play about half my games online, where you can not use auto base running. During my franchise games I use auto running, mainly for something different. There are maybe two times a game I completely disagree with the AI and over ride, then there will be another 2-3 times I wonder why they didn't try to stretch a play and maybe the runner wouldn't have made it, maybe he would have. I have not seen the AI send runners into WTF scenarios's, however sitting here watching MLB network high lights I have seen several WTF base running moves. Maybe your game is actually coded better than mine...To continue his analogy I guess you guys are the ones who have the beat up cars that are still running, they still get you from point A to B. Re: MLB The Show Update V. 1.03
It's confusing for me especially when I want to control one baserunner and not the other. I get the just of it, but I just don't want to do it. I don't feel smart enough to make the right decisions on it and feel I would run into outs and not get guys extra bases they should. Most importantly, and this is selfish, I just don't want too. I want to pitch and hit and let the computer do the rest, it's how I like the game. Being able to queue a steal is something I used to do occasionally though and would like to be able too again but I would give that ability up if it meant auto baserunning worked elsewhere (since it seems this year it turns off auto BR for some reason)Since the game is unplayable without it have you tried manual/assisted baserunning to see if you could get comfortable with it? I'm not trying to minimize your problem, but I'm sure if you tried playing a few games with it you could get comfortable. the controls for it are pretty intuitive and well done.Comment

Re: MLB The Show Update V. 1.03
This is nuts because there is a major difference between programming a video game and manufacturing a car.
It doesn't make game makers corrupt because there are issues. It makes them human. There will NEVER be the perfect sports game. It's impossible. When programming something, there are going to always be flawed and they patch the ones they can. Some can't be patched because it's part of the main code. So those flaws never get fixed because they can't fix them, literally. No matter how many tests get ran, there will be things that slip through the cracks. It's just the way it is.
Making video games is not an exact science. So you have to table the bad and decide if the good outweighs it. Otherwise, you'll miss out on some really good games.Comment

Re: MLB The Show Update V. 1.03
just today, after installing 1.03. I have a runner on first. The ball is driven to right center for a hit. The guy on first dives back to the base. I press advance to override and send him to second. By the time he gets up and starts running the ball is already at second Out! that's a broken game to me.Comment

If I seen that happen multiple times, I would probably think it's broken too. I've just never seen that ever happen before.Comment

Cars are sold with faulty parts all the time. Recalled for air bags, bad ignition switches, etc. When your car has a recall you are put on a list and get a call when the dealer has your new part. You're right. When your video game has a flaw it usually(hopefully) gets patched. Kind of similar actually.MLB: TORONTO BLUE JAYS
NFL: MINNESOTA VIKINGS

Re: MLB The Show Update V. 1.03
I and other guys were able to see the broken ABR after just one game. You gonna tell me Ramone and his crew couldn't see the problem with all the testing and live streams? They knew the ABR was broken but were so fixated on money making packs and stubs they basically said *crew the ABR guy it, we'll fix it later. That in my book is corruption. This is nuts because there is a major difference between programming a video game and manufacturing a car.

Haven't experienced anything like that, did you play with this feature in '15 and if so is it noticeably different ?just today, after installing 1.03. I have a runner on first. Re: MLB The Show Update V. 1.03
If this happens all the time, could you perhaps produce some video of it? That would definitely help the developers more than comparing it to a car and claiming the game is completely broken. I, for one, use auto base running and have played ~20 games and have yet to see an issue.Moderator
