Re: How to Set Up 30 Team Control
You must have injuries turned off in the settings somewhere. Because in my 30 team franchise, I am getting tons of injuries for teams on both profiles.Comment

Re: How to Set Up 30 Team Control
I have always used 30 team control, and plan to do so again this year. Quick question;
In the interest of expediency I thought about having the CPU as the default profile when selecting all teams. Then I only have to switch my team to my own profile (instead of the other way around). Is there any downside to this??
I tend to start multiple franchises until I am happy with the pool of CPU generated coaches and managers etc (I know it's probably unnecessary but I still do it). Anything to speed up the process is a good thing.Comment

Re: How to Set Up 30 Team Control
I am over a week into my season and not a single injury outside of my organization.
I set it up just as I have done in year's past, and exactly according to the video.
Started another test franchise and set it up the same way and started simming, half way through the year and only my organization and its farm teams are experiencing injuries.
I really don't want to start over, I waited this long to start for rosters and sounds and have had some good games. I can't find any toggle change it so the injuries start happening.Comment

Re: How to Set Up 30 Team Control
For those not getting any injuries, like I wasn't, I think I found a solution.
It appears to be a profile issue. I guess the CPU profile that I had initially created was based off of beginner settings and not experienced.
What you need to do is go back into the main menu and create a new profile based off of the experienced template. Rename that CPU Experienced, or whatever you'd like (just something to differentiate it from the original CPU one). From there, you just go back into your franchise and tab over to settings and you can go into the profiles and change all the teams that aren't yours to this new profile you've created.
Right away you should notice a difference in CPU injuries around the leagues. I was glad that this is all that it was and that I didn't need to restart my franchise.Comment

Re: How to Set Up 30 Team Control
Short story: if you do all toggling of management options (auto/manual) through the Options -> User Settings tab, you are good to go and 30 team control works as it should.
However, if you tap Square to toggle auto/manual of lineups/pitching/40 man/etc on the "Team" or "Acquisitions" tab, it will TOGGLE FOR ALL 30 TEAMS.
If you observe differently than this, please let me know. There is more than a visual bug at work here, BUT it is totally 100% avoidable it looks like. So that seems to be good news.Comment

OK I believe I have a definitive answer on how 30-team control is affected by this bug.

Thanks for this - been trying to figure this out. So are you saying: when starting a franchise and it lists all the teams, don't hit square - rather manually toggle each one to your COu persona - and the team you want to control to your "human" setting?
Or am I lost?

However, when you begin the Franchise, do NOT hit Square to toggle auto/manual management on the Franchise menu tabs.
For example, if you want your user team to auto manage your lineup for now, but it is currently set on manual, go to Options -> User Settings tab and change the option in the mode specific settings in the user profile directly.
This will only toggle the choice for your user team.
The bug would come in where you would go to the lineup in the Franchise UI, and hit Square to toggle it to auto. This would then affect all 30 teams.
At least this is what I'm seeing.Comment

No, you can hit Square there to select all teams and begin the franchise like you normally would.

Can't seem to get it to work for me, but thank you. No matter what I do, toggling one to manual moves for all 39 teams.
Surprised there is not more interest in this as for years everyone has said they find the franchise unplayable without 30 team control. (Which I agree with)

From what I understood and what I did seemed to work, here were my steps that worked with this:
1. Open franchise
2. New franchise
3. Load your roster you want
4. Once the settings screen comes up, I only changed that I wanted to have a fantasy draft (so the faces are computerized) personal preference.
5. When the select team comes up, I chose all teams as normal to have 30 team control and then changed them to the CPU profile of the ones I did not want to control, and made the experiences profile to the team I wanted to operate.
Everything is normal until this next step, which is new in this years game.
6. At the screen which you choose what you would like to do manually or have the computer auto operate for you, DO NOTHING. Yes the screen will show the Baltimore Orioles.
7. Click to begin your fan chose, again...WITHOUT changing any of the first three options on the initial franchise display screen.
8. Then choose spring training or regular season (I don't think it matters, but I didn't try both methods) I went into regular season using the OSFM 1.75 rosters to have the correct 25 man.
9. I then went into the Options-User settings-Mode specific options-change what you would like to ACTUALLY CONTROL here with the toggle between auto and manual settings.
10. Do this for both profiles of whichever you would like to control.
Again, this is just one personal experience. But I hadn't seen a trade in my original 30 team franchise, and suddenly following these steps, the computer is trading now. (Yes I am aware April and some May trades are kind of rare, but I saw none originally)
Thank you for your research and digging on this! Now to ACTUALLY enjoy baseball with trades and the way 30 team control is supposed to work!Comment

Re: How to Set Up 30 Team Control
Thanks man I've been bummed about it too. I was psyched to see it work as it should b/c just being realistic I doubted it would get fixed since the mode makes no money.
Yes, your steps were exactly what I did too. If you want to adjust auto/manual for anything, you can still do so at any time through the settings tab.
As long as you don't hit Square to toggle anything, everything seemed to work as we have come to expect.
Hope other 30-team tinkerers are seeing good results too.Comment

One other thing I've noticed. Let's say before entering a Franchise, you setup a user profile to control one team with all manual settings, and a cpu profile with all auto settings.
Cool, no problem. The only thing I've noticed is after you start the franchise like this, it will change many of the "manual" choices you made in the user profile to auto.
To fix this, IN THE FRANCHISE UI, go to OPTIONS -> USER SETTINGS -> MODE SPECIFIC OPTIONS and change it back to manual there and apply settings. Now it will work exactly like it should. Also, should you want to switch anything to auto at some point, make sure you do it in that screen.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES DO YOU TAP SQUARE ON THE TEAM OR ACQUISITIONS TAB TO TOGGLE AUTO/MANUAL.Comment

Re: How to Set Up 30 Team Control
Not understanding the issue - yes, it says manual under the computer controlled teams, but they are making trades, putting guys on the DL etc... I guess I am confused.
EDIT: Maybe I did the auto file in settings like the post above mentioned. I know all my CPU profile is set up auto and my profile is set to manual. When I cycle through teams, they all have manual listed (I think) for things like scouting, lineups, trades etc... but they computer is definitely making moves. Not sure if adjusting lineups, but trades have been made, guys to the DL and my team hasn't be touched.Last edited by Brandwin; 04-25-2017, 02:35 PM.Comment
