Re: How to Set Up 30 Team Control
So what am I doing wrong?
I set up my team with my profile and every other team with the CPU duplicate profile like the original video says but I can't only control my team and not the others. If I set my team to manual then all 30 teams are on manual and if I go to the other teams and set them to auto my team goes to auto as well.
If I'm not mistaken it was supposed to be set up that I can make my primary team be set to manual and the other 29 teams to auto but I'm seeing all 30 teams set the same regardless of profile.Comment

No other changes should need to be made, note again - the CPU trades with the other CPU teams, just not the user team.Comment

It will show on your main screen that everything is on manual, because you have "your" profile as default. So, even when you switch teams, it will still show the default profile settings on the main screens.
worry not, though, the teams will still follow the profiles they are set to.....
make sure you go to SETTINGS FILE ASSOCIATIONS and set all the other teams to the duplicate profile that has settings to auto.Comment

Re: How to Set Up 30 Team Control
I'm guessing in User Settings you have 2 named profiles (call them CPU/Human), CPU with everything set to Auto (unless there's something you want to control for the CPU) and Human set to manual (or everything you want to control for your team) and the settings file association set with your team as human, the rest as CPU?
No other changes should need to be made, note again - the CPU trades with the other CPU teams, just not the user team.Comment

Re: How to Set Up 30 Team Control
You have to do it under USER SETTINGS change the settings there, and they will stick.

Re: How to Set Up 30 Team Control
Yeah, that's what I've got, is there anything particular in the creation of the CPU profile before setting up the Franchise that would cause an issue? The other strange thing is that if I browse the other teams' trade blocks and try to hit x to initiate a trade I cannot. I have to manually create each trade. Does anyone else experience this, just wondering if this is a symptom of the same issue.
I found in 17 as well the 'x' button in the trade block just helps in my right thumb strengthening regimen, because it doesn't take you to a trade screenComment

Re: How to Set Up 30 Team Control
Where are you in the season? There's more activity near the all-star break and trade deadline usually. And for some reason I have found the CPU teams tend to covet one or two of my players for reasons unknown and I would get offers for them not the studs on my trade block.

Re: How to Set Up 30 Team Control
If it is rebuilding, teams will sometimes offer you trades. If it is playoff push, they usually won't...
And I didn't see any trades between cpu teams, or offers to my team, until mid June.Comment

Re: How to Set Up 30 Team Control
I'm having a problem with this also. I set up two profiles, just like I did in MLB 17, but I still have to set everything to "auto" to avoid having to deal with the other teams rosters and lineups not being correct.. But then the computer messes with MY rosters and lineups. To summarize, I either have to deal with all the teams, or let the cpu screw with my team. Could this be because I'm doing a carry-over franchise? This worked fine in 17.
I wish there was a way to transfer my franchise back to 17, I was quite happy with the way it played after all the patching was finally done, but like an idiot I've played about 40 more games since transferring my franchise to 18, which I'd have to play over if I switched back.Comment

Re: How to Set Up 30 Team Control
I stopped at 17 so I don't know about 18 but carrying over never was a real issue with the manual profile set then having the CPU take it over in the new game. Although i recall one year when I carried over something in the profiles got messed up so I had to go back and re-set the settings (i.e., the settings or assignments go messed up). But it was an easy fix and doesn't sound like the issue you're having.Comment

Re: How to Set Up 30 Team Control
You know I pondered doing this, bc my CPU profile is Custom 3 - did you have to restart your franchise or just rename and then re-associate?Comment

Re: How to Set Up 30 Team Control
a few iterations ago when I had my hiccup I do actually recall I renamed one 'experienced3' applied that to all the CPU teams in my carried over franchise and things have worked swimmingly. So I don't think you should have to restart.Comment
