Re: How to Set Up 30 Team Control
I had this idea the other day and wanted to know if anyone else had done this or if you guys think it would work well:
So once you set up 30 team control, and set your CPU profile, what if toward the end of May when you start to see the playoff race take shape a little--or at least who will be buyers/sellers at the deadline--you would create a third profile for CPU teams that are going to be either buyers or sellers (haven't really figured out which one would be better), where you set trades to auto as opposed to manual.
I realized that was a rather complicated way to explain it, but essentially you end up with:
1. Your user team profile same as usual
2. A "buyer team" profile with trades set to auto (or manual--this is the part I haven't figured out)
3. A "seller team" profile with trades set to the opposite of the buyer profile
I want to see if I could get a situation where I didn't necessarily make every single trade in my franchise, but still be able to decline bad ones and sort of negotiate with the computer, rather than coming up with both sides of the deal by myself. Id like the CPU teams to initiate some deals, but not really with each other...if that makes sense
Just throwing this idea out there. Do you guys think it would be better to set the "Buyer" profile to auto trades (where you would still control the Sellers and be able to control what prospects you want in return), or the "Seller" profile to atuo (would be able to control Buyer trades and choose what prospects are "untouchable")??Comment

Re: How to Set Up 30 Team Control
Just make changes and rename it or use the create option saving it.

Re: How to Set Up 30 Team Control
You can create more than two.....I think its under the bottom right tab on the user settings section...it lets you create either from scratch (either from "Beginner" or "Expert") or use an existing profile (one that youve already created) as a template, which makes creating new profiles very simpleChicago Cubs

Re: How to Set Up 30 Team Control
Just to reiterate regarding questions about line ups using 30 team control. You must start out using only 25 man rosters and then sim spring training. After you sim ST, then you manually add the 15 guys to each team. Everything will be fine after that. It really only takes about an hour to add guys on rosters. I also manually injured guys to reflect real life and I was done in 1.5 hours.
My main question is - How do you you know which players to remove and add back to the 40 man roster, in order to have accurate opening day rosters and lineups? Is there a resource available for this? It is probably right in front of my face but I've been searching the forum find the easiest way to do this accurately. Thanks!Comment

Re: How to Set Up 30 Team Control
At the risk of sounding like an idiot in my first post on OS... I am using the Hybrid 40 man roster. If understand correctly, I need to reduce the 40-man roster to 25 before the end of Spring Training. Then, after ST and before opening day, place those 15 back on the 40 man roster...

I found this (^^) website to be the most helpful resource when determining each teams opening day rosters as it also gives projected lineups/rotations (which are already updated based on this--or another accurate resource--in the Hybrid Roster as far as I could tell). Just click one of the articles and then you can switch divisions on that same page.
Also, there are two ways to get the rosters to be accurate in franchise mode:
1. Reduce the rosters so only 25 players are on the 40-man before starting a franchise. (opening day rosters will automatically be correct, but you will have to fix the 40 man)
2. Send down players not on the 25-man roster to the minors (or manually injure them if you want to do real life injuries) during your franchise without taking them off the 40 man roster. (40 man rosters will automatically be correct but you will have to fix opening day/25-man rosters)
There isn't that much difference between the two methods, just whatever one you find to be easier to do. They each take about the same amount of time.Chicago Cubs

Re: How to Set Up 30 Team Control
CBoller1331, Thank you. This should help a lot. I tried to post a thank you earlier, and thought that I did. As it turns out, I guess the link in your post wouldn't let me quote you because I'm a new poster. Anyway, I appreciate your answer to my question.Comment

Accidentally posted this under 2016 questions. Sorry.
Hey hoping for some help. If you do a franchise with all teams can you select certain things for the cpu to do for select teams? I.e. Set rotation make trades etc.. I want to do certain actions but not all for every team. I thought we used to be able to set it by team but I can't figure it out. Thanks.NCAA14 football. Beta tester for Fanatec. Re: How to Set Up 30 Team Control
put them in "A'" ball all year and manually tweak the rating after season a bit so they do not retire.Comment
