    More Difficult?

I must say, this years game has really got me surprised. Its a little tougher on default sliders for Veteran.

I was held without a hit until the 6th inning when I got my first hit, and run scored off a Arenado hr to straight center. I also had a little difficulty pitching with Tyler Matzek. Gave up 4 hits and 2 runs in the second inning before finally calming down.

I dont know if its because its my first game since October, or if anyone else can say the same?

Until you have a larger sample size, my initial guess is the ''first game since October'' thing.

Yeah not to pile on but a lot of people have mentioned moving up a level this year. I moved up to All-Star hitting for the first time in years.

          Re: More Difficult?

I'm finding the game way easier this year.

I am going to wait until I have played a few more games, but through 20 games in my Twins Franchise I am batting .290 as a team with an ERA just over 3, while leading the league with most Home Runs and least Strikeouts as a team. And this is on Hall of Fame.

Funny thing is, the team is almost dead last in Walks, which tells me pitchers are still not throwing enough balls this year, and they don't seem to want to pitch around any of my hitters even though most of them are tearing the cover off the ball.

Least Strikeouts and Least walks just seems wrong. Maybe pitchers throw more realistically on Legend?

            Re: More Difficult?

I play on Default Hall of Fame and I'm 10th in the league in walks. Play every pitch of every game. I just finished a game with the Cubs in which I drew 6 walks (7 if you count the intentional pass)

To the OP...I think you need a larger sample size but in my experience the learning curve is about the same as previous years. Hitting takes a bit to get used to (especially zone hitting) but once you do it becomes more rewarding when you square up pitches.

Play a few more games and knock some of the rust off.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

              Re: More Difficult?

Im finding it more realistic. I have it on Dynamic my hitting is on veteran and pitching is on all-star.

Im using a fantasy drafted team in 5 games im 4-1 easily could have been 3-2 but im getting walks and striking out about normal for me but im not killing all the teams.

Syndergaard gave up three runs in his start (Won game in late innings)
Velasquez gave up 7 in 6 innings (Came back and won 12-8)
Lackey gace up 5 in 5 innings (Lost 7-4)
McCullers Think he gave up 4 (Won in the bottom of 9th comeback)
Maeda only gave up 1 run (Won game 2-1, but they were up early had a lucky hit from Vazquez my C)

So I would say for me it is playing the best I have ever seen this game play

                Re: More Difficult?

I would say pitching is the one thing that is easier in the game, I started my franchise as soon as I picked up the game on dynamic difficulty and 18 games into it I'm almost up to legend difficulty. got a nice 15-3 record going.

                  Re: More Difficult?

Been leaving it on dynamic difficulty and it's been going higher in difficulty faster so it seems easier for me. First game in franchise I had 9 runs in one inning on veteran.

                    Re: More Difficult?

I love the difference l dynamic mode. I have struggled to get past rookie 5 in hitting. On the pitching side i set it to veteran because i am most comfortable with that. I control up 16 teams and with these settings in a single day my teams may finish 8-8 or a good day 10-6.

Played a few more games, and I still give up 4-5 rums a game. Not saying I hate the fact I do, I am just glad I am not dominating with the Rockies pitching staff like I have in the past. Currently 7-4 through 11 games.

                        Re: More Difficult?

I am finding this game to be much easier then ever before. In the past I was all star for both hitting and pitching. On hitting I would have to up my sliders some as I found all star hitting a little to hard but veteran to easy. On pitching I would find HOF to hard but all star to easy so I would play on all star pitching but with both control and consistency at like 3 to make it harder. Now this year I have been playing on DD and I just up to HOF+ pitching. In the past I would maybe get to HOF, but like has soon has I got to HOF or all star+ I would get hit hard. Now this year I have been at all star+/HOF for like 3-4 games and I am not getting hit that hard and even the last 2 games I lowered my control and consistency down to 4 and I think I may have to lower both of them to maybe even 3 or one of them to 3. So in the past I would have already been brought back down to all star pitching. This year on the other hand I think I am going to need to play at either HOF or HOF+ pitching and with both control and consistency at 3 or one at 3 and other at 4. So I think pitching is like a level maybe even a level and a half easier this year then ever before.

Now hitting in the past I found all star to hard. To the point where veteran + would have been like the perfect level if not for the fact that under all star the CPU will not walk and throw enough balls. So I would play all star but with sliders to make it easier. Now this year on the other hand I am finding all star to be a little easy. I am at all star on DD and I have gotten up to all star+ for a moment. I think I may have to play at all star+ for hitting or maybe HOF. So as always I find pitching in the show to be easier then hitting. But in the past I was all star on both. This year I may be HOF+ pitching and HOF hitting or maybe HOF+ pitching and all star+ hitting or maybe HOF pitching and all star+ hitting. I need to play a little more before I know what level to play at between those 3 options.

This year I have had to raise the difficulty a bit. I don't know if it's because it's easier, I'm getting better, or the Cubs are just so incredibly good. Not exactly a controlled experiment.
Would the lady who left her nine kids at Wrigley Field please pick them up immediately? They are beating the Cubs 4-0 in the 7th inning!
