I have been playing the show since The show 11. I would say that I'm a good player. Show 13 I was 154-32. I haven't really been playing online the pass 2 shows because of how horrible online has been. I have been using zone hitting since the beginning and still use it.

One thing that really bothers me is that. Everyone online seems to use directional hitting. I have tried directional but the outcomes are too random. I am at a big disadvantage against good pitchers with zone hitting. Especially against hard throwers. It's so hard to pitch against a directional user. Only way to beat them is to throw off their timing. But locating seems to be useless. Anything in the zone is getting killed which is suppose to happen but against zone if your looking somewhere else you can get a pop up or a ground ball.

Having different controls is good, but for competitive online it's not. Just like with pulse pitching vs meter. It's a big problem that no one seems to mention.

Another thing they took out is early steals. I never abused early steals in the past, but the holding runners was a lot more realistic in past shows.

I'm not trying to rant. I'm just want to make people aware. Hopefully I'm not the only one that acknowledge this.

How can you tell which control system your opponent is using? The PCI that shows after each pitch always shows in the middle of the plate regardless of what controls they use.

If user skill (and not trying to brag) was taken out then I would not be winning 95% of my games each year. Have they shortened the skill gap a bit...yes most def, but you still are rewarded the most by using interfaces like zone and analog/meter pitching.

BTW most people do not even use directional and if they do...they won't win consistently if you are a good player. What makes you think they are using directional? Watch this vid and you may be getting confused with the feedback...

I mainly play with directional hitting offline and the main problem is that even if good timing and a good swing the results are random. I'll get pop flys and on the next at bat with the same person the same type of pitch/swing/timing nets me a base hit. I turned on zone hitting for a conquest game and I knocked 5 hits in a row including those that were outside of the zone (not way outside but hittable). I'm going to try franchise for the first time this year so I'll probably play through spring training practicing the zone hitting and go from there.

It can be frustrating to play someone who swings at everything, but you make one mistake and they crush it.

It is what it is. Just don't throw strikes to people who swing at everything even if they send you an angry message.
