I don't have PSplus so I don't know but, how do you know when someone you are playing is using directional? Do you get a screen prompt or is this more a gut feeling?

It just sucks when you think you get beat by them, haha.

And it makes me paranoid. I just wish I knew, that's all.

I hate to complain about anything when it comes to sports gaming but directional hitting is clearly OP and the sad thing about it is, guys don't think they have an advantage.... DIRECTIONAL HITTING gives you that authentic experience with hard hit foul balls and base hits in holes I never knew existed but it's ridiculous!!! In OFM, you never want to tweak the sliders because the game will go haywire on HOF difficulty... It's not fair to guys who've been playing baseball games for decades who've pretty much mastered a playing style to compete with like-minded SHOW heads year after year... There should be an option when your starting your OF to toggle all the crazy stuff off for anyone who joins... It really is unfair and fake to say the least....

Why are people allowed to use this as an option in H2H games either in DD or Play Now? It's an absolute joke with the cheap hits and runs I've given up.

It requires absolutely no effort on a players part and is total bush league nonsense. Folks should either have to use Analog or Zone when playing in DD or Play Now.

I haven't played one Zone or Analog user all year. So thank you SDS for giving bonafide scrubs an opportunity to earn absolutely nothing in game.

It should be usable only in RTTS, online and offline franchise, and the game rooms. It has no business in matchmaking competitive play at all.

Just enjoy the game and stop worrying about what other people are using and stop looking for excuses as to why you lose.

The notion people directional hitters are at an advantage is patently false. If anything they are at a disadvantage.

I LOVE if I'm playing a directional user online. Again, though, how the OP knew everyone he played was using directional I'd love to know. Did he ask them all after the games? If he was going off of PCI analysis following his pitches, it doesn't accurately show where your opponent's PCI was.

Its clear that you haven't dug that deep in all these years so as far as false goes, the quote above holds nothing of importance... I've done research and created play by play ball by ball and strike by strike comparison vids just to close up similar mouths lol.... " THE NOTION " OP has no reason to lie..

The complaint there is pitchers have an unfair advantage.
The best hitters still fail 60-65% of the time.
Maybe it's time to completely do away with the pitchers mound.
Move the pitcher back from 60 feet 6 in. to 65 feet.
Then award the batter firstbase after 3 balls.
Doesn't 5 hour, 20+ runs a game sound appealing?

No matter what hitting mechanic your opponent uses you have to pitch your game. The only time I have found where directional could give a slight advantage is when online opponents constantly pound you high and tight or high in the zone, where directional will give you better contact in play and zone gives you a broken bat dribbler or pop up.

All interfaces give you pros/cons. Directional is the easiest to learn but you wont see any top players using it because you really limit your ability to consistently make contact.

To that extent, zone is easier for players that can handle it.

However good luck trying to tell someone that is new this year that zone is easier to use than directional. It takes alot of practice to use zone. I did not get the hang of it until about a year or so of playing of the game.

Zone has always been easier. Ive seen elite players ba climb rapidly when switching back to zone

i am suprised no one has mentioned this yet but when directional hitting was introduced last year i remember being told that Directional has a smaller timing window. so it's not easier. it even said in the 15 in game manual that the timing window is smaller. so it's settled then? i rarely use directional except in situational/ predictable at bats where i know i am likely to get a certain pitch.
