Re: My only gripe. Too many plays made by the catcher. What's yours?

Gripe 1: Outfielders play every hop perfect off the wall. I lay at PNC a lot and a line drive off Clemente wall doesnt just bounce right back to the outfielder and a hit into the notch in left center doesnt take a predictable bounce. I have had hits down the line that go to the wall and have been held to a single because they play the perfect bounce and then smoke it to 2nd.

Gripe 2: Foul balls always staying in play. There are not that many plays in foul territory in a typical MLB game but in this game the catcher might make 3-4 outs on pop flies behind the plate.

Gripe 3: The CPU always seems to know when you steal and they throw the pitch out. I vary when I steal all the time so its not like I have a pattern. It doenst matter if i go on the first pitch, down 0-1 0-2 or 1-2, up 1-0 or 2-0 and I have had them pitch out on a 2-2 count to drive it to a full count.

Gripe 4: CPU bunt cheese. They try to bunt far too often, with guys who shouldnt be bunting. Or the CPU is down like 6 runs in the bottom of the 9th and try for a bunt base hit. I was playing Cleveland and the CPU bunted Rajai Davis every at bat. It was ridiculous

It's funny because I used to always think to myself when crazy stuff always happens that maybe there is "code" for this. I always shrugged it off but watching the development streams you see that they can set up any ball outcomes with their dev kit on, so maybe they are.

Another gripe I have that is minimal but I wish you had the same 4 umpires for an entire series. Nothing game breaking or anything, just a personal preference.

That's the way fouls are a lot of times in this game in general. It's not just your fouls - when I get the CPU to pop up foul, it's the same behavior.

Sometimes they do this and then sometimes they just stand and stare at the ball before realizing it's 4 feet in front of them and they go get it. I don't know what dictates which happens.

When Im facing a tough pitcher and I manage to get good timing and good contact...only to ground out or pop up or even miss the ball....

Not enough offense, stolen bases too difficult to accomplish in manage mode.

One gripe people havent really mentioned is when Matt Vasgersian gives away whats going to happen.

Especially on fly balls that are close to the wall and may or may not go out and then the whole he blows through the stop sign line, that means the guys out before it happens.

Base runner speed difference between CPU and human. Prince Fielder (CPU) hit a line drive off the wall in right center and walked into 2nd with a double. Robinson Cano (Human) hit almost the same spot but the ball rolled to the wall and was thrown out at 2nd by 3 feet.

                  Prince Fielder speed - 29
                  Robinson Cano speed - 44

would love to see catchers tagging out batters that strike out on pitch in the dirt. unless it actually gets away from the catcher. Agon is a stud at all his variety of tosses to pitchers covering 1st but in the game he has super human speed and just runs to the bag himself which he rarely does in real life. these would be fixed in a patch i would be even happier than i am.
now if i can only concoct a slider formula for MOM QC's! any body have any QC MOM sliders they would like to share would be greatly appreciated!

Double pat throws from the outfielders are infuriating and have cost me two throw outs at home, costing me two conquest games. This doesn't count throw outs at other bases.

Oh my God, THIS! I'm a 1B and sometimes I actually have to dive after the ball when it's only like 10 feet away. However, I'm starting to get a hang of when to turn around with the left stick but I can't even imagine what it's like for an OF.

Another gripe I have is the constant "pickoffs" when I'm batting and there's a player on first with two outs (this is in RTTS). I mean sure, Altuve is the baserunner but that does not warrant pickoffs that lasts for over FIVE minutes! One time I just gave up and simulated the at-bat. Struck out of course even though I was in a good hitter's count 2-0 because they pitched out TWICE.

My beef with Vasgersian commentary is when he interrupts with "And we'll have to leave it there" when the third out is recorded.

Line drives up the middle hitting the pitcher. Happens once every other game I feel like. Too frequent.

I have seen a lot of people say that double plays are a issue. So I am not the only one seeing this and there are a lot of things that people say is a issue with the game that I don't see such has FPS even though the game is very smooth or pitchers getting hit on balls up the middle even though I am finding that to be much better then years past even though it does happened to much.

If you're swinging at a pitch low in the zone in a pitchers count, you're probably going to hit a ground ball. You can't say it's the game and not you, when no one else is blaming the game.

Go outside and hit a low cutter or a low fastball from a major league pitcher, your ball is going to be on the ground off the bat.

Anyway, not to derail the topic anymore, my major gripe with this game is the catchers and foul pop ups.

Every other foul ball seems to be a pop up right to the catcher, or a looping, high pop up that always stays in the field of play and up long enough for the ai to get the out.

There are other people that see the double play thing besides just me and its like once a guy is on first base the chances of hitting a ground ball goes up like 60% and the funny thing is you said something about to many pop outs. In the past I would pop up way to many balls. This year much better I don't see a lot of pop ups any more but double plays still way to many. The game is great though so I would say my only big issue with the game is the CPU and the way they use there Bullpen but that has been a issue for a long time.
