    Re: Fist Pump Moments

Had a couple of great games so far with this year's game...and can honestly say IMO it's the best Show game I've played.

Playing as the Dodgers against the Rockies in Colorado Kershaw gave up 2 runs and I was trailing 0-2 in the 9th.

Puig steps up and blasts a 2 run Homerun to tie they game up. In extra innings, top of the 11th inning Seager hits a HR to go ahead 3-2. Closer gets the save and I won the game. Was lots of fun filled with drama and fist pump moments.

Another game was Giants vs Blue Jays. Tied 5 all top of the 9th, Crawford hits a liner to score a run in to win the game.

I'm not saying past versions had comeback code but I've had quite a lot of occasions where the AI would rally late in the game to win it, or a sudden burst of errors late in the game forced me to lose.

With Show 16 I haven't experienced any of this and have seen a good amount of close games going both ways, easy wins for me and the AI etc.

REALLY enjoying 16. Just wish they would work on presentation again, it's been going backwards for quite some time now.

      Re: Fist Pump Moments

I was just about to make a thread like this because I had a doozy of a game last night.

This was in my White Sox franchise that I just started, we were playing the Royals at home in late May. Not the most important game on the schedule, but when the champs and division leaders are in town, you want to play your best ball.

First of all, we were holding steady behind some solid pitching from Mat Latos and found ourselves down 1-0 in the 5th. In the bottom half Todd Frazier came up with the bases juiced and proceeded to unload them with one swing of the bat. Grand slam, White Sox lead 4-1. Of course being the White Sox we found a way to let them back in the game and by the time we got to swing the bats again it was 4-4 and we had to turn to the bullpen.

Fast forwad to the 11th inning. We find ourselves in a bit of trouble, the bases are loaded, no outs, and we have a frankly sub par left handed reliever, Dan Jennings, on the bump. Not exactly a great situation, but you gotta try and play your way out of these situations. I can't lie I wasn't feeling too confident, but then something that I really can only describe as a miracle happened.

The Royals batter, whose name escapes me right now, slaps a hard grounder over to Jimmy Rollins at short. The ball got their fast enough for Jimmy to field it, place the tag on the runner headed towards third, gun it over to Brett Lawrie at 2nd, who fired it over to Jose Abreu at 1st. Bang, bang, bang. Triple play. We survive and take it to the bottom of the 11th still tied up.

After being involved with the triple play, Lawrie stepped into the box to try and end things. He did just that by crushing a fastball over the left field fence to give us the 5-4 win.

Needless to say I was on cloud nine after the triple play and I was going mental when Lawrie sent everyone home. We had absolutely NO business winning that game, but some solid late inning work from our bullpen, the long ball, and an absurd amount of luck helped us pull out the W. Chris Sale went down early in the year with a torn rotator cuff and that put a huge damper on a year where Abreu, Frazier, and a host of other guys are tearing up the ball. The lack of pitching has sunk our season, but I'm going to cherish wins like that moving into the future.

Mine was hitting my first (and only) career grand slam in RTTS. 2 out bases loaded, 7-2 down in the 7th and I bridged the gap significantly.

Of course it would have been better if we had gone onto win the game but hey ho can't have everything!

Mine was last night playing battle royale, I had 2 games go over 6 innings. But the second game was the real gem. We were tied 0-0 in the top of the 9th he had a man on 3rd with 1 out I got him to pop out to my catcher, than struck out the next batter. I came up and struck out looking on a ball I swear was too high than Tyler white came up and hit a shot to left center for a walk-off homer 😊

Aledmys Diaz driving stop up the middle from a ball smoked by David Peralta followed by a throw out at first from his knees preventing 2 from scoring to end the inning. Still lost the game (looks like countryboy and I are at the same spot in our schedule, hopefully you are having a easier time against the dbacks than I am, was swept last night)

I've only played the first game of the series against them. Will play the others hopefully tonight.

My A's flailed through 7 innings against Felix Hernandez late last night. The score was 2-2 heading into the 8th.

Mike Montgomery comes in for the 8th in a tied ballgame and pitching in the get-away-day matchup, first up in the 8th....
Josh Phegley, back up catcher is up to the plate.
0-3 so far in the game.
Montgomery swings through a fastball right down the middle.
                    The 0-1 to Phegley,
BLASTED INTO THE LEFT FIELD SEATS IN SAFECO!

....... A's put together several more hits, plating 4 more runs after Phegley's Homerun. After a 2 out hit double by Vogt and a walk by Coghlan,
Phegley comes up to the plate again in the same inning with 2 guys on and 2 outs.
                    Joel Peralta delivers the 1-1,
Phegley HITS ANOTHER BOMB TO LEFT! A 3 RUN SHOT!! The A's put an 8 spot on the board! HOMERING TWICE IN THE SAME INNING!

With how badly I've struggled at the plate this season so far. It was nice to have a big inning.
With back to back victories against the Mariners on the road, My A's have won their first series of the 2016 Major League Baseball Regular Season.

I usually have a couple each game to be honest. Last very memorable one was when I hit my 2nd 3-run HR of the game with BJ Upton to take a 6-5 lead in the 8th inning. Ended up winning the game. I was so excited and it was a just a meaningless exhibition with two random teams

                        Re: Fist Pump Moments

This could;ve gone in another countryboy thread, but it elicited a pretty good pump, then a little fist bump from my 7year old nephew. A little co-op between the 2 of us. He was doing the hitting vs the CPU & I was doing the pitching. We're the Pale Hose at the Cubbies.
0-0 in the 7th. My nephew actually hits worse than I do, but c'mon kid, gimme a little run support. I'm getting a whale of a game from Sale, giving up just 4 hits through 7 & no runner past first. Then that weasel my nephew pinch hits Mike Olt for Sale, "NOOOO!!" Then grounds out weakly with him Ends the inning.

New Rule for the 2 of us: I get to hit when it's the pitchers turn to plate from now on. Somehow I muddle my way out of the 8th with 3 walks & an inning ending DP now pitching with Nate Jones. That didn't give me the aforementioned fist pumper, I was still steaming from Sale being pinch hit for. We go into the tenth still 0-0, & when it's my first chance to hit with the new rule. Zach Duke had come into the game in the top half of the frame. I take the controller, wham, game ending homer, & my first homer with a hurler in MLB The Show 16.
Fist Pump. Fist Bump. As for my nephew, he now has to wash my car Sunday.

Created a 2nd baseman for RTTS mode the other night and finally got around to playing my first game last night. I went 3-4 with a 1st inning double (first AA hit), single in the 4th, ground out in the 8th and then, with 2 teammates on 2nd and 3rd down by 2 in the bottom of the 9th I hit my first HR and subsequent walk-off to end the game. Fist pump.

That'll teach him to pinch hit for uncle's ace when he's pitching a gem!

That's a cool idea to do co-op, btw.

Yeah, he;s smart enough to know pitchers aren;t usually good hitters, but my brother showed him how to pinch hit.

Fist pumps are reserved for key outs, particularly strikeouts.

I do have another habit though. When I hit a no-doubter, I tend to admire it and always say: "Oh, I CRUSHED that thing."
