    Time to move up?

I'm in a bit of a conundrum here and I'm needing the wisdom of my OS brethren. For years I've hit on The Show using Zone on the All-Star difficulty. But it seems as though this year I'm, as crazy as it might sound, almost too dominant offensively. Given, I'm only four games into my "official" franchise but I've been putting up some serious hits in those games. The biggest issue is that I'm probably not going to be striking out at what I would consider a realistic rate.

I'm thinking that a move to Hall of Fame may be in order. But I'm concerned that by doing so I'll make the game move in the complete opposite direction. Also of note, I play (as always) as the Cubs. And let's keep in mind that they did just score 16 runs tonight in Jake Arrieta's second no-hitter. They've got some guys that can seriously mash the ball. So in a sense, if there's ever a year to have crazy, ridiculous offensive stats for my beloved Cubbies, I guess this is the year. I've always told myself I'm not going to change difficulty settings until I'm leading the league in a particular category in an unrealistic way. And as it stands right now I'm actually not leading the league in batting average.

For those of you who play on Hall of Fame (and use zone hitting), do you guys get to the point where you feel you play a realistic game in terms of statistics? What do you like and dislike about the Hall of Fame setting for batting? I'm very eager to hear some thoughts that can help me decide if I need to turn up the difficulty.

I was the same way... I got to the point where All-Star was too easy for me. HOF is definitely a notch up, it's challenging to face good pitchers & even some mediocre pitchers can give you headaches if they take you out of your groove. Legend is absolutely ridiculously hard lol I think HOF is perfect... Losing sucks, but no team is ever going 162-0, so I deal with the losses & the stretches where I average 2 runs a game for a week or two in my season, it happens... I just like that it happens on HOF, I was dominant on AS. Make the jump, you'll enjoy it!

Edit: I do play with my pitch speed slider maxed for both fastball & offspeed but I'm 21 years old & play baseball in real life so my reaction is pretty good lol but maybe play with the pitch speed sliders a bit so it's more challenging. Don't necessarily have to max it out, maybe a couple ticks up is what you need to challenge you.

Only you can really judge if it is time to move up. But I will throw in my two cents and say that 4 games is a little small for a sample size of where you might be comfortable at.

I think HOF default plays a very realistic game of baseball. I have games with double digit hits, games where I struggle to get hits, and everything in between. There is nothing that I dislike about HOF and the thing I love is the challenge and reward of hitting on it. Nothing feels better than hitting that homerun or base hit on a level where you feel challenged.

but as Bullit said, only you can really judge if its time to move up and I would play more than 4 games before deciding. I would recommend playing 20 or more before deciding what level gives you a challenge but isn't over powerful.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Give it a couple more games at least just to see. Though Im exactly the opposite, after years of playing on Legend diff im now down to All-Star and still cant buy a hit (seriosly I have 6 hits total in my last 9 games)

I would say try and use the Dynamic, and it will adjust what level you need to be on but may need to play some other games to get it where you need it first.

I did that before the rosters dropped, played games with other teams so I could get it set where it needed to be before hand.

I'm now having games all over the place with them. Some games I blow out, some games I get blown out, Some games I come back and win, Nobody is really leading in any stats that are way above what they should be even thou it is just spring training I feel I have a good mix from them
