Re: Red Sox question
Bogaerts & Betts aren't more than 3or4 points off, but Bradley I think Sony Over-rated with an 80 speed, I can see him maybe being a 72 speed.
But, well, you know, that's just, like, my opinion, man.T-BONE.
Talking about things nobody cares. -
Re: Red Sox question
Brings up a question - how much does 8 points of speed matter. Or 3 or 4.
Sometimes we get hung up on who's higher than who or the "exact" rating a player should be...but what's the practical, on-the-field difference between 72 and 80, for example?

Re: Red Sox question
We need a 40 yard dash mode to test this. Could be an "undercard" for the Home Run Derby.
I can see it now...MLB 17: The Show and also some foot racing™
Ball's in your court now, devs.Comment

Re: Red Sox question
Hey, people like to see athletes run fast, right? Why should only the muscle warriors get to show off? Let the speed merchants do their thing, too!
Have it be a skills competition. How much difference is there in arm strength? Arm accuracy?
Heck, could become an exotic mode. Who'd ever think baseball and Romance of the Three Kingdoms (or Risk or whatever your boardgame wargame of choice is) would ever marry into a mode?"Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment

Re: Red Sox question
Actually, now that you bring those other skills up, we might be on to something...
Fifa has a fun skills game mode, maybe The Show could as well. In addition to being fun, it would help us discern what certain attributes like speed, arm strength, and arm accuracy look like in action.
Speaking of fun mini games, I remember MVP Baseball 2005 had this awesome arcade hitting mode. You'd get bonus points for hitting lawnmowers, etc.Comment

Re: Red Sox question
You going to keep finding things to wait on and you gonna run out of time to enjoy your franchise as you rush to complete a season or sim most of it.
Just play the game and have fun.Comment

Re: Red Sox question
Believe it or not the AUSSIE RULES grand final half time show has featured a 100 metres sprint race for the leagues fastest players since 1979. The MLB have missed the boat on this one! Players seem to take it seriously and its settles a lot of arguments with some surprising results.Comment

Re: Red Sox question
Would be a really cool addition to RTTS to build up some of your skills in a gym/track setting. Go to batting cages, lift weights, run sprints, etc. Use stubs to buy the facilities to use for your player instead of just dumping them into stats. Could add some more of the rpg flavor to the game. Maybe even purchasing the sponsorships as endorsements for your player would unlock those sponsors facilities or something.
