Re: MLB The Show 16 Patch 1.04 Available Now, Here Are The Details
I'm not in the know....or by any means speaking for the devs...but I did see a post where someone quoted someone from TSN that they were aware of issues being introduced by the patch and were working to resolve them.
I think at least another patch is forthcoming.
Just my thought.

The only question for me is what will be addressed. I'm hoping for numbers being added back to the interface and the trade approval toggle. Both of those are somewhat tenuous patch hopes though as (and I think it was bcruise who rightly pointed this out earlier) interface related fixes can be tricky.
We'll see though. It's been a frustrating start, but I think people forget too that while there have been several issues and, therefore, several attempted fixes, we're still only just over a month into this game's release. That's why I'm ok still holding off.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 16 Patch 1.04 Available Now, Here Are The Details
I did see a FA signing..."mid" year...only one and the same one in three sims.
The Padres sign CP Greg Holland in mid to late April(I guess they don't like Rodney either!)
But that's all I see for mid season signings.
So it's not "shut off"....but it just doesn't happen much I guess.
(year 1 maybe)

I'm at exactly mid season of my franchise, 81 games played, and no CPU team has signed a single free agent from the pool. Very few trades also, despite me putting the slider up a notch before the season started. We'll see how that progresses in July, as on July 1 the number of the players on the trade block quadrupled.Anyone who claims to be a fan of two teams in the same pro sport is actually a fan of none.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 16 Patch 1.04 Available Now, Here Are The Details
I have a very good idea.
When I see Ichiro's BIG vsL wedge and a vsR wedge that's like half the size....I think it's safe to say you can tell which one he's better at.
Same for Trumbo vsL and vsR. Or Harper in my carryover...you couldn't tell the difference between a wedge that represents 90s (his vsR ratings) and 50s (his vsL ratings)?
I can tell the difference between Buxton's 80-rated wedge in reaction and a 60 rated one of Sano.
Is it hard to tell the difference between 78 and 83? Probably. Can you tell a difference on the field? Probably not. For significant differences on the field, you can tell with the wedges.
I don't even has a great, uber, 4K or whatever TV.
It's called taking chances and trying to come up with new ideas. Whether or not it's "totally useless" is up to your opinion. Not changing things or trying new ideas also opens you up to criticism.
If you think it is as easy to look at 2 completely different players and remember the exact or even close size of their wedges then you my friend are just a fanboy.
I have been a member of this site since 2003 and have purchased every single iteration of The Show since then. I love this game obviously but when something does not make sense or makes it worse IMO, I will say so. The Radial Wheel and Energy Circle are 2 such things. They spent time and effort to fix something that was not broken and even went back in to fix the Energy Circle, thus more time.
I respect your opinion even though I very much disagree with you even thinking this is not an issue for a lot of people. The Show continues to improve in Graphics and Gameplay along with that come hiccups...I do understand. I am just trying to keep them from getting the hiccups unnecessarily...lol.Comment

"Following a Year to Year file upload in Road To The Show, the player card stats would display incorrect team and player info. This should now be corrected."
On the Show Nation forums, one member posted that this was not, in fact, fixed. That the incorrect team bug was still fully present. I don't have the game yet (plan on getting it this week), so could someone on OS confirm whether or not this was fixed?Comment

Re: MLB The Show 16 Patch 1.04 Available Now, Here Are The Details
Right, I'm a fanboy because I can tell Ichiro's reaction wedge is larger than Sano's? Or Chris Carter's? Or Ichiro's vsL contact wedge is MUCH larger than Buxton's? Or Trumbo's vsL ratings are better than Schwarber's?
Those are all different players last time I checked.
Let's say I want to pinch hit for Buxton because they brought in a lefty the inning before. Ichiro is on the bench. I go to sub and see Buxton's hitting wedges. I move over to Ichiro - the vsL wedge "grows" a lot.
But I guess I'm a fanboy because I can see the difference as plain as day?"Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment

I'm assuming the fix was going forward on imported teams and the already imported save could not be fixed after the fact.
I have no idea I'm just wondering if the fix was also going to fix the already imported save.Joshua:

Curious what they were.Joshua:

Just GH is good enough to sign though!
Also......you have to check the FA signings(transactions) page often.
That Holland signing was there in April on the page....and May/June...then it was wiped from the books for some reason!

There were several trades involving bench players and AAA players in April, but since that, the only ones have been by me, when I lost my #4 starter for the season and my #5 starter for 3 months, and decided to make a bold move.Anyone who claims to be a fan of two teams in the same pro sport is actually a fan of none.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 16 Patch 1.04 Available Now, Here Are The Details
Fielding animations are the best they have ever been. Ton's and ton's of more organic and realistic looking plays in the field. Routes to the ball are far more realistic in the OF. Ball physics are better than they have ever been, hit variety is off the hook this year with balls rolling all the way down the lines, bouncing into the corners. Playing balls off the wall is far more realistic this year due to the ever improving ball physics. The lighting is insane. The hitting feels so much better this year. CPU hitters chase out of the zone. Setting up hitters feels real now. Base running....yes base running as far as steal success ratios, the cat and mouse game between pitchers and real legit threats to steal bags is a game within a game this year.
Listen I could go on and on. But MLB 14 and 15 feel dated to me when I play MLB 16. I could never go back. The game plays like butter offline.
If you don't think so....then continue playing MLB 15. It's a great game too. And it is fully patched already.
This last patch smoothed out some choppy animations at the plate (check swings which were God awful pre-patch) and I am sure another patch down the pike will get everything tuned to a tee much like last years patches tuned up MLB 15.
Play by play and commentary is vastly improved from MLB 15. Quite frankly MLB 15's commentary and play by play was abysmal. I could not take it anymore after just a few months. Choppy, disjointed, repetitive more than it ever was...just plain piss poor. This year has a ton of freshness to it, much more emotion, stories, dynamic references during franchise. Player emotions are showing a lot better after big hit's, strikeouts, defensive plays etc. HR calls are vastly improved. Just so much better.
Man this game is freaking awesome. But way too many people here focus on one or two things for 50 pages and refuse to play the game. Sorry if you don't use default base running, sorry if all you play is online. And believe me I want online to work properly as I love Diamond Dynasty and Conquest. I am sure it will get worked out. It's been what...5-6 weeks since release? And yeah the game should ship in better shape....I get all that. I am sure they will fix the issues.
They are not perfect. This game is not perfect. But the way people attack and post is out of hand and a down right embarrassment.
The game is highly playable for all offline modes. In fact in it's current state despite some things that still need to get worked out (I am not going to apologize for things not working properly like classic base running after the most recent patch) the game blows away last years version by a comfortable margin.
Things need to be repaired. No question. The point is....pretty much anyone I speak with in the community agrees the game is awesome....in spite of the state it shipped in and we are all enjoying it while we await the forth coming fixes.
It's become a cess-pool of piss poor posting. I have remained silent....but I can't anymore. I believe that issues can be discussed in a far more mature and civil manner. I am not blind to the bugs in the game. I was uploading bug reports too, up voting issues I have seen.
That's being productive and working with the team instead of spewing venom like a cry baby. I mean Jesus people. Back away from the ledge....go play another game....do something other than bark hatred at guys who love their job and give us a hell of a baseball game year in year out. This game screams passion for baseball. It's a joy to play.Comment
