Re: MLB The Show 16 Patch 1.04 Available Now, Here Are The Details
It's amazing how people take for granted how good this game actually is. With that being said, I believe the patch makes it play even smoother offline. All I play is franchise. Default all star. Directional hitting. Meter pitching. I've saw more hit variety and more balls in the gap post patch. Outfielders with lower ratings don't get to near as much IMO. Game is playing great. Also I've never really noticed the frame rate issues other than in cut scenes and foul balls. Post patch these issues seemed toned down as well. Really enjoying this game. Thanks SCEA.
PS: We could be on the other system with virtually no baseball game this year. Best show I've played dating back to 06

It is still there but it's not close to being true to real life, around the better box anyway. Bottom of the 5th in the show probably looks like bottom of the 1st IRL.Comment

Hopefully next year we'll see homeplate get dirty as well, after a slide at home you see the lines crossed but the plate perfectly clean. They can include an animation where the ump brushes homeplate."When it's all set and done, reality is the best innovation."Comment

Pretty sure they used to have one. Plate didn't get dirty but the ump brushed it now and then.Comment

Went ahead and bit the bullet and downloaded this patch...
*touch wood* so far no issues whatsoever, though i am a purely offline player.Comment

I think it is a Wrigley thing. I was playing a home game the other day wondering what happened to the chalk degradation. Then I went on a road trip and it started happening again.

Look, I am not here to argue with you. You obviously love the game as much as I do. I agree that those examples, with much different wedge sizes, are easy to tell. Unfortunately there are also a lot of examples where it is very difficult to tell. But, I am into the details and play out every game. I may want a pinch hitter but maybe I want him to stay in for defense, or maybe I am trying to weigh HR vs Base Hit in a situation as well as Speed. I can remember 2-4 numbers very easily for 2 or 3 different players but it is impossible to do nearly the same thing with the Radial Circles.Right, I'm a fanboy because I can tell Ichiro's reaction wedge is larger than Sano's? Or Chris Carter's? Or Ichiro's vsL contact wedge is MUCH larger than Buxton's? Or Trumbo's vsL ratings are better than Schwarber's?
Those are all different players last time I checked.
Let's say I want to pinch hit for Buxton because they brought in a lefty the inning before. Ichiro is on the bench. I go to sub and see Buxton's hitting wedges. I move over to Ichiro - the vsL wedge "grows" a lot.
But I guess I'm a fanboy because I can see the difference as plain as day?
I hope you enjoy the game and find all the work-a-rounds you need to enjoy it. The game has some problems, game-breaking for some. I have confidence in the Devs to fix them...that is their history.
Bottom line for me, items were added that lessen my enjoyment of the game and the way I play.Last edited by bamawaz; 05-05-2016, 08:24 AM.Comment

I didn't say he couldn't respond, I asked why he couldn't wait for CleveCluby to answer. My question was directed at CleveCluby for what he said and looked forward to a reply from him. A & S had posted previously how he enjoys the game and no secret there.
Was it not clear that once CleveCluby responded anyone could answer? I liken this to the forum I moderated for over 10 years. We are all in a room, lots of us. A conversation is started between Bill and John, the others, including Jim are in same room. Bill asks John a question, but before John can answer, Jim pops in trying to answer for John, or just wanting to express his answer. John says please don't interrupt me and proceeds to answer the question. Courtesy, I guess there was more respect and courtesy on the forum I moderated.
Anyway, as for my posts, I don't recall answering for someone else before they themselves answered. It might have happened, anything is possible. If the question is in the general sense, not directed at anyone in particular, of course it is an open field to reply.
Have a nice day, friend.Comment

Same here. Then again, I don't sweat the small things, though I do notice. Working in a profession that absolutely requires attention to detail and perfection, it feels good to not HAVE to look for that when I'm trying to unwind by playing my video game. It works both ways too. I can certainly notice the small improvements that each update has brought, as well. Like someone brought up before (in past years), I don't get caught up in the hoopla, I "just play" and I greatly enjoy it that way.

I just play as well. I focus more on what the game does right vs what it gets wrong. Are there things that I wish were better/fixed/added? Certainly. But those things are far outweighed by what they game gets right.Same here. Then again, I don't sweat the small things, though I do notice.
