    RFA (Restarting Franchise Anonymous)

Wanted to start a thread for people like me that want to play a full season, but I always find myself wanting to find the "perfect" team that I know doesn't exist. Playing the games isn't an issue as I'm sure I play over 162 games throughout a year with The Show. I just can't seem to find a way to do it with one team.

Just wanted to list some reasons as to why I struggle, and I'm also curious as to why some of you struggle as well. Just a heads up, I usually do a fantasy draft so some of these might not apply to you.

-Redrafting, Redrafting, Redrafting. I have an addiction. Every time I have a team, I think I can top it with another draft. This is by far my biggest problem.

-Kind of goes along with the point above, but now I seem to always come out of a draft with the same players. Once I find someone I think is a steal in a certain round, I always pick them, so every team I draft is really really similar aside from maybe 3-4 players.

-Finding jerseys with some variety/a home stadium that I like in real life.

-I watch a lot of baseball, if I see a player/team on TV I like, I catch myself wanting to start my Show Franchise with them.

-Newer, shinier roster has come out.

What causes you guys to get stuck on the Franchise treadmill?

Yeah, I can see myself fitting in that description.

I'm a Fantasy Draft enthusiast as well, and for me, it pretty much always come to playing against a team, saying to myself: "Ohhh, it would be cool to play with this guy. But I wouldn't do it in this uniform though. This guys would look good in X. And I could maybe bring that other guy with him...and that closer would fit. Alright, lets do it !"

So while you may be drafting a lot of the same guys, for me it's quite the opposite (at least for the starters). However, this year, I spent a lot of time on my draft...about two days evaluating the roster, making lists, etc. And I'm pretty confident I'll stick with this team this time around. Lets hope I'm cured.

I don't think I could have worded that any better. I should have clarified, I'm usually drafting the same 4-5 core players for every team. For example, year I seem to want to start every franchise with Carlos Correa and Chris Archer.

Just out of curiosity, what team did you end up using for your Franchise?

I am also afflicted with this disorder, and nothing seems to help. Your last three points, have always caused me to pause, I mean retire, I mean quit a franchise.

Another issue I've had, is retired numbers. It bothers me to no end. One time I did a Brewers fantasy draft. Selected George Springer. He happens to wear #4. Guess who also wore #4 for the Brewers? Yes, Paul Molitor. The number is retired. I tried to get past this. I played 7 games, in which Georgie wore 7 different numbers. Guess what? He didn't look "right" in any of them. Franchise retired.

        Yes, I need help.
