Another friend of mine just did the same thing and asked the same question.

The simple truth is that with the current instability of The Show 16's online servers, it is not worth the cost of a new system + PSN. The game has a ton of potential and I hope it's realized before long, but Diamond Dynasty is totally unstable. Online seasons might be better but I can't imagine it being perfect.

So basically, The Show '16 should be viewed as an offline only experience right now with the potential of online play in the (hopefully) near future once the servers are reworked.

When i got rid of my ps4 the first time, i had to get it again, because...The Show.

These some nice new features this year, just play it and love it.

It was THE Deciding Factor of me going to PS4 instead XBOX One two years ago.

In addition to, I apologize to any XBOX users is the fact that,

Playstation Exclusives are so much better,

(Uncharted, The Show, The Order, The Last of Us, etc.)

If you're only going to play online, there is a good chance you will have a frustrating experience. Plus now you have to pay to play online.

But if you love baseball & can adapt to also playing a lot of offline, then by all means, buy the ps4.

Best offline game out there for sure which is what I like. One of the worst online gameplay of any sports game.

I bought a PS4 this year, I use it only for The Show and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I play mostly online and I've had a good experience so far. Just my take.

Bought ps4 a few years ago solely for the reason that it was only console that has the only two games I play. The show and madden. Buy that shiz

I made the same decision (with a Playstation 3) back in 2008. Best decision of my video-game playing life. Well, maybe second to buying a PC for Bethesda games.

HA - I was happy with my PS3 but because of The Show the scales were tipped. So I purchased my PS4 JUST for The Show.

My ex-wife divorced me back in the day because I bought a PS3 just for The Show. Well, not exactly, but she literally told me it was the 'final straw' why she wanted to get divorced. I stand by my decision.


Same for PS4, bought it for The Show. I play other games on it, but if not for The Show, I may only be a PC gamer. Luckily for me, I am now married to a sane women who doesn't mind if I play some video games. That ex wife was a crazy bee-otch, for many other reasons besides thinking our marriage was ruined by me buying a video game.

I did the exact same thing, I don't play On line, I only play sports games, Madden, Golf Club, and my favorite The show. But I bought a PS4 basically because of the show.. And I am 65 years old. And i try to play every day.

Wish I did. We seem to get a few good innings and a few choppy innings. I enjoy playing friends from all over the country and some people I met online. I rarely have any interruptions with NHL.
