Patch effect starting pitching AI management?

I'm the Os, going against the Blue Jays and Aaron Sanchez. This all happens in the 1st inning

Lead off gets on via walk, then gets caught stealing

    Next batter SO, 2 outs

3rd batter gets on via walk, cleanup hitter gets on via RBI double

Then Sanchez loses it, he proceeds to walk the next 6 straight batters, walking in 4 runs

The inning finally ends when my number 2 batter grounds-out. Finishing the inning (65 total pitches, 26 strikes, 39 balls)

I was shocked to see him not get pulled, is this part of the new patch, has any-else seen something like this where the starter isn't pulled when he should be

Loving the game not trying to hate on it by any means

What was the status of the bullpen, was it tired? I've noticed a few things but when I thought deep down there actually was a valid reason. There are thousands of decisions AI need to make and I have to think that some situations fall into the cracks.

My gut feeling is that **** happens good and bad and unless it becomes systemic ya just have to go with the flow.

But 8 walks is rather a lot LOL

NOTE - I believe "systemic" is used wrong but it sounded good 5 minutes after I woke up.

I'm more shocked that he walked 8 guys...in one inning.

But 65 pitches...and only in the 2nd? I can't believe a real manager would pull him that early unless his guy was hurt. Would want to try to get at least a couple more so his pen doesn't have to try to eat 8 innings?

Yea - at that point he is cannon fodder and I would try to get as many outs as I can so I don't eat my bullpen.

I had a game just two nights ago (I lost 15-3) where my starter went 2 innings and the next guy gave up 9 runs in 1.2 innings. CANNON FODDER. Eat up ANY innings I felt.

For the OP - 5-0 in the first I'm resting players and eating innings.

          LOL Yea those 8 walks...wow

But to answer the OP's question, there were some tweeks to Bullpen AI Mgmt in the patch, there was a post around here somewhere about it.

Also not every pitcher will get pulled in the first (IRL). 5 runs aren't that bad and can be caught up. Depending on the time of year (early or late season) and how he fairs in the 2nd would determine how it shapes up.
