Anyone else play better with quick counts on?

I played with quick counts on today and I seemed to play better on offense. I think it took out me being aggressive as a hitter which in turn helped increase the opposing pitcher's pitch count.

I decided last year that I prefer quick counts. I never had the patience to walk before--with quick counts my walk ratios are more realistic.

I hit better with it off, but for realistic walk rates, and the ability to play more games, I always use it in franchise.

Does quick counts ever give you a 0-0 count? Every so often?

No, it always starts at least 2 pitches in.

I hit better without QC, but I still use it some when I don't have time to play a full game with it turned off. My only issue with it is that the random starting counts have no respect to the pitcher's or batter's skill levels. Guys like Greinke and Scherzer who routinely lead the league in fewest walks per 9 and have good control and BB/9 ratings in the game are just as likely to start with a 3-0 count as any low rated guy with sub-par control and poor BB/9 ratings.

I tried it and it does speed up the game....however when I did play with it i found when i wanted to go play a random game on DD i would end up having the worst at-bats, since with QC you can get stuck into a 2-0 count and just have to guess the location of the fastball and smash a home run.

If your patient without quick count you can still have good walk totals...so far 60 games into my Franchise Donaldson and Bautista are 1st and 4th in league walks. All i did was take 1 tick down on the AI balls slider on HoF difficulty and the AI will attempt to pitch around your big guys to some extent which leads you to have realistic walk rates. Also if you struggle with this, try to guess pitch(assuming zone here) in a hot zone for your player for the first 2 strikes, and don't swing at anything that is not going right into your zone. If you take that approach with your 1-6 guys you will have a good walk rate!

I play with quick counts on. I love it. The only downside is when you get an 0-2 count in a big time situation. Also, I hate when Im pitching and I start out with a 3-0, but the game, imo, is better with quick counts on.

I love the feature when I want to get in 2-3 games in under 2 hours.

                      That's it though.

I hit far better playing full counts and prefer that, as it really is intense and immersive to work pitchers and work counts.

But the feature is awesome. Again....when I know I have limited time, I will turn it on to get in some games quickly.

That's where I'm at. I loved that they added it in as I missed it since ASBB.
However like you I only use periodically when I want to possibly get 2 or 3 games in.
Just too many strategy decisions being missed and or/ negated due to QC.

I mainly went to it to help get accurate walks (For myself and the CPU) but this year that has not been a problem at all, especially for me with the new fish eye cam. I can see the ball breaks etc.. a lot better now and get good walks.
Again I LOVE they added it but I've ventured away for the most part.

With limited time to dedicate to playing video games, I find QC's essential. Without the option, I wouldn't be playing MLB 16 The Show.

While I draw more walks hit with QC, I wouldn't go so far as to say I hit better.
But I do feel like I pitch better with QC on. I feel like there's less chance for me to throw a bad pitch & in the process I usually get a free strike or two in the process.
More than anything, my hitting game just has a very different feel to it when I'm batting with QC on. I feel like I don't have to worry about constantly first pitch swinging. If I get up there & hack at every pitch when QC is on, it's alright. When QC is off I'm pretty self-conscious about being more disciplined.
                            So, pitching, I play better.
                            Hitting, I just play different.

I swing at everything with quick counts because I struggle to get timing on the pitcher's release and struggle to recognize where a pitch is headed out of his hand.

With it off I can actually work counts a lot better and get a feel for the timing on the release and tell where a pitch is going out of the hand and what type of pitch it is after seeing a guy the first few batters. I can also pick up on tendencies a lot better.
