Nothing in the zone is unhittable. Each pitch just requires the correct timing and PCI placement. Up and in is guaranteed to get crushed if you get your PCI there with good timing. I actually don't mind the pitch, especially against an opposite handed pitcher.

If your playing online and guys get predictable with it that makes it easy to crush.

If you're referring to my post I didn't mean literally, hence the quotes. Good point about putting the PCI there though. I don't do that enough.

THIS IS PROBABLY THE MOST IMPORTANT THING SAID IN THIS THREAD. my tv has 39 ms response time. trying to find a a new monitor but money is tight. it does make all the difference and my tv has game mode but it's not that much of a difference due to the quality of the model i have. i agree high heat is off this year and i think it should be easier to hit and this is something that needs to be addressed as we can't all just go out and buy a brand new monitor with less than 13ms of response time.

Im extremely dumb when it comes to knowledge regarding TV's and stuff like that but where can I find my tv's response time lol.

lol no worries , its not on your tv but if you go to the tv input lag database on google you can enter in your tv's model number and size and it might have it on there. if its not on there then you likely have a crappy tv for hitting 95 mph fastballs.

Nope you are not the only one. Know matter how good I am hitting there are 2 things that drive me nuts about hitting. 1st double plays I don't think I can go a single game with out hitting into a double play. 2nd is this hitting high heat.

When it comes high fastball I would say like 99% of the time I am either late or I swing below the ball to much or both. I know that it is not easy to hit a high fastball in real life but I am not talking about extremely high fastballs and even if I am playing a guy who only throws like 85. I am talking about a mistake fastball that is only slightly higher then middle of the plate that most guys would crush in real life. In the game I have a tendency to push the PCI low just like you and I also feel like when I do push up the PCI it still goes down. Maybe I am just that bad at pushing it up lol. Also I know it is not easy to catch up on the high fastball but it is so hard for me to time the high fastball. Its like a 85 MPH fastball is more like 130 when it is a high one lol.

I use timing for hitting. Am I missing something but not using PCI?

I use timing and guess high fastball on every pitch (when the pitcher has one), and it works great for me. I hit 2/3 of my home runs that way, and get a sizable portion of my doubles and other hits that way too.

I mainly play H2H in diamond dynasty. If im sitting with my PCI neutral waiting to read and react to the pitch I can't, so i usually start with my PCI high and inside and move down and out on pitches from there. A lot of ppl online can't hit it, so users tend to pound high and inside with FB's until you make them pay. I actually like it, because I know it's only a matter of time until I get around on one, and online sometimes that's all you need to win.

Re: Am I the only one who can't hit the high heat?

When does it end? Seriously...just lost my 22nd game in a row. After that I decided to go into batting practice against the lowest rated left hander I could find as Josh Donaldson. All human sliders cranked. Saw 7 good timing foul tips and 6 good timing popups that barely get past home plate. Beginner difficulty.

I get it. I'm bad and everyone who tells me that they don't see it is much better than me. How bad can I be though? Fastballs. All mid to upper third of the plate. Automatic pop up or foul. This can't be possible under these circumstances.

If I pitch up to middle of the plate, fastballs, with that pitcher to Josh Donaldson with all CPU sliders maxed, I'd safely wager that I'd see some pretty amazing blasts.

Hitting doesn't seem right this year. I can't go lower than beginner, nor can I increase any slider that helps me in any way aside from CPU pitching control to nothing. It's already at 2...

it's not just you i have been a show junkie since 11 and i started out on all-star and by 13 i had mastered HOF. I think a big reason a lot of us are struggling too though is our TV's. Before i had a good monitor with minimal input lag but i got a different TV now and I am struggling online on ALL-STAR to hit high heat and before i would never play all-star online because it was too easy but this year it seems extremely difficult to punish high heat.

I don't subscribe to the TV theory because the game tells me that my timing is good. Huge green PCI. Also...every slider cranked. It's ridiculous. I don't play online either.

I am firmly convinced that hitting is wonky. Some of the fouls I see on good timing are positively absurd. Again, I reiterate - good timing/large green PCI. Like, I could take the guy out sitting in the second deck above the dugouts to the left of my right handed batter with ease. Hell, I can do that with near regularity. I can't put a ball on the huge field in front of me though.

I agree hitting is wonky i am just saying I think our TV's input lag is a bigger deal in this year's version. I just hope you aren't disagreeing with the fact that input lag is a factor in this game and always has been for the last 6 years.

Oh, I think input lag is an issue with all gaming, of course. I'd never deny that. I'm just focused on trying to achieve better results at the plate and as long as I see fastballs that should be gifts go foul or over the mound, I'm afraid I'll never get any better.

Played a few games of 2015 the past couple of nights. Hitting results were awesome. Weak bloopers, a few doubles and triples and even some home runs. I got struck out and saw the cpu do the same. Switched back over and immediately back to 3 hit games. Timing = good hit result = popup.

I'm wondering if it's patch related. I'll admit I have struggled with hitting this year, but not this bad. This is absurd. I bunted twice last week to avoid being no-hit against the cpu. Yes, I am a monster.

High fastballs are my favorite pitch to hit in this game. They are easy home runs if you know they are coming and you have someone with 80+ power at the plate.

It's easiest to abuse those pitches with the strike zone camera and zone hitting turned on.

Start your cursor high and just let it sit there. Use the normal X button swing and try to pull the ball. If you don't pull it you'll probably get jammed and pop out. Swinging well out in front of the pitch is key.

If your batter doesn't have a lot of power, you can just aim a little higher and try to get your PCI over the top of the ball to hit a good hard line drive that will usually end up being a hit.
