    Help with Fly Balls

Anybody else still struggling with flyballs in the outfield? I'm an experienced player (HOF difficulty all around), but going a full nine innings without having a booted ball in the outfield has still eluded me. Even when I come to rest completely under the ball, all too often the ball drops in cleanly or bounces off my player's head. I've even gone so far as to turn the Outfield Error slider to zero, with negligible results. Has anyone else struggled on the defensive side? Do you have any suggestions for me?

I've found that for balls that you can settle under, you need to let the CPU take over. Get your guy to the spot and let the stick go. Balls on the run take care of themselves in my experience.

Always. I've never played an iteration of this series where outfield errors weren't 600-800% exaggerated. Not uncommon for all-star outfielders to have as many errors in one month of franchise as they would have in a full season. Usually they just come up empty after standing under it, but sometimes they don't even react at all and the ball just hits them.

After you settle under the ball try to avoid any last second corrections.

Between the lackadaisical urgency, terrible non tags applied, and dropped balls, fielding in this game is pretty terrible.

It feels so wonky and not smooth whatsoever.

Never had an issue with dropped fly balls, though I don't play on HOF. Non tags applied on the other hand...

I have the same problem sometimes, but it's not as bad as last year. Last year I would be in the ball marker ready to catch a fly ball and the marker would move at the last second and the fielder would do a stupid falling over animation and miss it.

I am not digging can of corn fly ball drops at all this year.

The worst for me are the line drives that are hot directly at me. It's just natural for me to try and move my outfielder, but he was already in that canned I'm gonna catch the ball animation, and once you take him out of that animation, its impossible to get him back into to catch the ball, no matter how much time you have to do it. I really enjoy this game, and don't wanna bring negativity to these boards, but I'll never understand why the problems this game has had for the past decade get a pass in the reviews while Madden and NHL get crapped on for having similar issues.

I haven't had near as many issues this year compared to last. It seems better. I do find it hilarious how a lot of times an outfielder will catch an out with nobody on and come out ready to throw. Same with the final out of the inning.

I toned down the Outfield Fielding Errors slider to 1 for both myself and the CPU. Just too frustrating to deal with IMO and not worth the hassle. I see very few fielding errors in the outfield and most of them are on ground balls

This. There is no shame in using the sliders if the resulting game works well for you. With some slider help I actually like fielding better than it was a few years back. It used to be too easy and kind of boring.

I've had issue act today trout missed to routine fly balls but I noticed timing had. A lot to do also I can't just run to the circle now I try to get to the ball as smooth as possible

Online the line drives are ridiculously hard to get to sync into a catch. Probably once a game I see an out turned into a 3 base error or triple.
