Lag in all game modes! Help!

I am getting a lot of lag when trying to hit and pitch in all of the game modes. From offline franchise to DD vs. CPU and Users. Whenever I'm hitting, the ball skips, and I see it every other foot or so, making it incredibly hard to track. When pitching, I can't hit the line on the meter because it gets choppy, almost like there is too much going on for the game to handle. I would expect this playing online with someone with a really bad connection, but in my offline franchise? I tried deleting the application data from my ps4 and reinstalling it, but that didn't work. I've heard the suggestion of rebuilding my ps4 database, but would like to know if there is another fix before going through that process. Please help Thanks in advanced.

Are you serious right now? Rebuilding the database takes what ..... 30 seconds?

Ok..I don't know when I became the *******, but please excuse my lack of ps4 knowledge. I've never had to do anything of this nature, so I didn't know if it would erase my data or anything like that. I will give it a shot thought, i guess.

Let me know how that goes for you as Im having the same problems, not to the extent you are but it gets laggy from time to time and Im playing completely offline so not sure why its doing that. There are times Ill press the button to swing and it literally doesnt even register that I pressed it and he stands there taking a strike for no reason so Id love to figure out what is causing it.

So far I have done the rebuild ps4 database thing twice and still getting the issue. Can't play offline, and online is just as bad. My next step is to ask SDS themselves...

I'm on PS3 but I was having a lag issue so I signed out of PSN and that helped. I know you said you're playing offline but you might try logging out or disconnecting the internet connection if you haven't already.

Just ran that experiment, and didn't work. I was so optimistic that your suggestion would work too...lame. However, that rules out the issue being lag though, because I figure you need some type of network connection for lag to happen. So this seems to be more of a frame rate drop. Its only when loading new screens I notice a 'lag' where the players will slow down, and then speed up to compensate. My issue is more when the pitcher winds up, I see every other step in the motion, and its not smooth. Then when the ball is released, it gets even more choppy. I see the ball released from his hand, then don't see it again until its like half way to the plate, then don't see it again until it crosses the plate, and so its impossible to track anything. It also happens when pitching, and I use analog pitching. The pitching meter will lag and I can't time the ball on the line for a perfect release. It gets worse when pitching from the stretch, almost like the game can't handle it and I can hear the fan start blowing like the ps4 is working overtime. Is it a console issue? None of my other games have this issue though. So confused...I'm gonna work on getting video of the issue uploaded so everyone can see exactly what is happening.

Okay, managed to get some decent video of this. The first one isn't that bad, the 2nd one is eh...the 3rd one really shows what i'm dealing with. I tired to get one of a fastball skipping but the AI wasn't cooperating. This is just with hitting, the pitching has issues too but i'm still working on that video. The site wouldn't let me post links so just take the space out and it should work.

Playing offline franchise, AAA game, you will see the pitcher throw a high fastball and its not entirely smooth, but its not the worst. If the game stayed like that, I wouldn't even complain.

Pitcher throws an outside change, and if you look closely, you can see the pitch hiccup a bit on its way to the plate. But again, not the worst, still playable at this point.

This is where it gets unplayable for me, mainly because it just gets progressively worse as the game goes on. The pitcher throws an inside curve ball, and you can see when he releases it, there are multiple hiccups and its not smooth out of his hand. I can literally count the 5 points in which the pitch stutters. It almost looks like the ball animation is cut and pasted with 5 different angles instead of a smooth arch like a curve ball should look coming out a pitchers hand. This mainly becomes an issue if there is a pitcher with high 90's heater and decent curve ball or change up. I can't help but think he is going for high heat in that initial skip, then its not until later I notice the 2nd frame is the ball dipping, and by that point, my guy is already on his follow through. It gets worse if the pitcher tries to throw a fastball high and tight, its like I see every 4th frame.

I'm not a console expert but with the fan kicking in, it sounds like your console is having trouble processing the game. Do you have any programs running in the background? I don't have a PS4 so I don't know if this is even possible. But something like that may cause it to run slower.

Nothing running in the background...but you gave me an idea. I do have that HDCP thing on so that I can run other apps on the ps4, maybe that is causing my issues. I will try disabling that and running some games to see if it works.

So I disabled the HDCP thing and it worked for a bit, but then as the game went on, the ps4 went into overdrive mode and it started skipping again. It does seem like an issue where my ps4 can't handle the game, so I will contact SDS to see what they recommend.

if your ps4 is going into overdrive with the fan/noise, then it sounds like your ps4 is overheating.
